    DIY: Hicas PS pump mod

Found this guide on how to mod your Hicas PS pump to not pump with the rear(hicas) portion of the pump. Sure beats buying a non Hicas pump. Pretty easy to do.

Thought this was common knowledge at this point.

His welded bolt looks like **** though. You can weld up the female end that the bolt goes into.

i do agree about the weld. Myself I'd just grab a new bolt.

Just because it's common knowledge for some, doesn't mean it is for all.

i would try and find something with pipe thread otherwise you may end with a leak.

Is there still pressure on that side of the pump after you remove the fins though?

Ya, there is still some. If you dont take it out though it'll blow the front seal on the pump.

I looked to try to find the right thread pitch in that bolt and found it was much easier to just weld it shut.

Common knowledge is something that is humanly natural to understand....how is this common knowledge? and ANY how to is a great because not everyone knows everything. I learned from this thread and I have owned a skyline for a couple years.
