WHo is running a decat pipe ??

Anyone in TO is running a decat pipe on their gtr , just wanted to know the kind of gains you saw when put on and is it much louder than with the cat , i imagine it must be !

I know a guy who replaced his cat with a hollowpipe. He didn't gain much noise pollution, but does pollute slightly more (obviously). As for positive gains, full boost is now achieved at about 3200 RPM rather than 3500RPM. Not MORE boost, just quick spool. If you need more info I can contact him.

im just worried bout cops and how loud it would be , thats all , thanks, its just that i went thru all the trouble in getting hks dump pipes and large hks front pipes , then its restricted at the cat , just kinda seems to defeat the purpose i guess

I'm running a test pipe with a 3" back on a GTS-T and it's pretty loud, but I have never had a problem with police. To be honest, it is loud, but it isn't abnoxious like the rice rockets out there, and I think that is what police are after. Just keep your foot out of it if you see one I guess.

i used to have a test pipe in mine. but got pulled over three times in 2 days cuz of it. now i run a cat just to avoid any hassle. but if you still decide to go with a test pipe just shift at 2k. :hit_head:

I guess it is different living in toronto. I live in burlington, so they aren't very strict about cars.

i punched out my cat, the markham police have been quite nice so far, as i've been pulled over 5 times in the last month... but mine is not loud after boost, its actually quieter than low revs...strange...??
although i notice alot of excess gasoline stays in the hollow cat and causes alot of backfire randomly... usually on engine braking / downshifting...

but i punched mine out, because my cat completely melted... police have given me no trouble as i turn the car off immediately when they step outside their vehicle...

I'm running a decat...don't notice the difference because i never had it with a cat so i couldn't say..i don't suppose the power output would be too noticeable, i heard the gains are minimal..although my car does sound really throaty ;-)

i'm running a decat pipe, and i hit full boost at 3000 (.75 bar) if i wana turn it up 1 bar at 3500 :drive: . it has been on the car since i got it, so i dont know if there is any diferance... but theres gotta be..

just get one put it on, dyno pull it and see what the diferance is, i'd say 5-10 WHP on your monster!!! :bow down:

and if it dosent give you much you can sell it to one of us on GTRC! win:win sorta...

I would go with a high-flow cat before I ran a de-cat pipe.
Not worth the fine ($310 last time I checked).
