    Track day next spring?

    Ok so who all here would be interested in a track day some time next year? I know we don't have a huge amount of people in Ontario, but if we could get a few commited, even get some people out from Quebec Im sure we could get a decent event.

    Now I was looking at the prices on the shannonville track and here are a couple of ideas, but it would really depend on how many people we can get

    Nelson OR Fabi track for a full day
    weekday = $2200-$2400
    weekend = $3400-$3600

    Now obviously the weekend would probably be better for everyone, but in turn costs alot more. So it would depend on how many people we could get out there.

    the other option would be evening
    Long track = $550 per hour
    fabi/nelson = $275 per hour

    now long track is HUGE 4.03 KM and we could make a whole day meet out of it. that way we could have lots of people there, and everyone doesn't have to race. having 20 cars on long track would be nothing, but if we only had 2 hours of track time they would all be out at once, where as if we had a whole day we could have 40-50 cars and just split them up

    It would be nice to have just skylines, but unfortunatly I think we would have to open it up to a few people to fill the spots.

    here are some pics of the maps here

    If this doesnt work out those who are interested can always just tag up on lapping days with other clubs etc. thats what Ill be doing all summer hopefully

    So everyone who would be willing to pay $100 or so to do a few hours of laps post up. Its about a 4 hour drive from montreal if I recall. 2 hours from Toronto I think.

    Mosport Full Course = 8000 for the full day, including EVERYTHING (marshalls, emergency crews, tax, insurance, etc)

    If we can get 20 people from ALL around Canada to come out... that's 400 bucks a piece... which is a KILLER deal for a FULL day of Mosport.

    Ideally, we would get like... 40+ people. Split the group up into smaller groups of 10, each group goes out for 20 mins, then is off for an hour, back on for 20 mins, off for an hour.... or something like that.

    You CANNOT run your car ALL day ALL the time or it will die, YOU PHYSICALLY cannot race all day all the time or YOU will die. Soooo I figure this is a good way to do it... with 40 people, the price is 200 each, which is a steal.

    People who rent out a whole track for 5 cars, are just silly... because you will be paying for track time that isn't being used... having 5 cars at the track for 5 hours is NOT logical.

    what I meant by the 5 or 6 people would only be for 2 hours. that way its only like $100.

    obviously the whole day would be best, but again its a matter of getting enough people out. If we opened it up to other clubs however Im sure we could fill spots

    You can always count me in for any track days. Options are:

    Calabogee (if they ever get it open)
    Shannonville
    Mosport
    Dunnville
    Cayuga (maybe open again next year)
    Waterford Hills (best of the bunch for a track day IMHO).

    2006 Ford F350 SD PSD Crew DRW (aka "Monster")
    2006 Kubota F2880 60" Mower & 51" Snowblower (aka "Buzz")

    I agree that waterford is an awesome track I agree, but I just thought it would be harder to organize going over the border.

    The only reason I posted shannonsville was because they have all their prices posted, and its a pretty decent track. And its close to QC which makes it easier for you french :P

    Ive never raced at dunville, is it a decent track?
