    GTR Owners in the GTA

    Hey Guys,

I am new to the GTR world and haven't had much fun so far. I am looking to get some info on turbo set ups. What are you guys running? What do you use your gtr for Track/drag/daily driver.

    Thanks
    Mark

P.S> I am currently building my motor that I put 17kms on after buying my car. 80% of that was the drive home.

Anyone running garrett 2860-5 or hks 2530 or N1 turbos

Are Vspec turbos just steel wheels?

People are too secretive here. Nobody likes to give up their setups. Check out my project page for my mod list. I got most of my work done from FederalRace here in Mississauga.

The N1 for sure (and maybe Nismo??) turbo's are steel wheels.
Good bolt on upgrade if you want to turn up the boost, good power capability, and still have better street driveability and less installation issues than a big laggy single turbo.

That sux about your car man. It was one of the cleanest, mintest GTR's I've ever seen when you bought it from Zaheer.
    Very suprised this happened.

    Good luck though.

    thanks Pmdawg

Yea this is Zaheer old ride.... I thought it was mint too. I even had Manny/federal check it all out. He even thought it was one of the cleanest he has seen. I picked it up and drove it home 15kms....and then I went to drop my wife off at the gym 2kms and it died going around a corner at 35-40kms shutter a bit and nothing. Pulled over and it wouldnt start. I thought the fuel pumped died. Towed it back to mannys and no compression across the board. Started to take the engine apart and something came lose and went through the head/motor. We still dont know what and I still dont understand.

    Anyways i guess sh*t happens

I would like to know who has upgraded there turbos and how they like it. I would love to go on some test rides if anyone is up for it.

    Thanks
    Mark

zaheer has one of the sickest skylines, hes also very meticulous with his rides it's weird how the car you bought off him would break down.

he sold his second one eh, but yeah I completely agree with what peter said. The emphasis he put on keeping his Skylines and Supra in flawless condition was insane, but its good. those cars are literally the sharpest, cleanest, and best kept JDMs i have ever seen.

lol its funny how everyone says my cars are perfect. if my cars are not up to my standards i have trouble sleeping at night, thats why ive decided to focus on the top secret supra project for now. it will take a long time to complete as i will have to do it practically from scratch. ive decided to wait for the R34 and just focus on my current rides. i will stay away from skylines for a while and just watch all you guys enjoy them. but then again who am i kidding i can never pass up a super clean skyline that has the right price tag so who knows what the future holds.

    Zaheer.

p.s. im still very shocked about my first skyline that i sold. that thing was one of the best cars ive ever owned. god knows what happened inside that motor. ohh well... i guess somethings cant be explained sometimes. i wish you all the best with the new motor Mark. as you know im always here to help with any questions.
