Ontario Insurance companies that insure RHDs...as of today

I know Steve has his thread, but a lot of that is dated now. As of today, which companies insure RHDs, and whats required to get a policy. (Must have had previous policy, certain age, etc.)

I am 18, G License, with 2 cars on a policy (incl. Skyline). I am currently with Allstate now.

I am hoping to find some variation of a collector car policy, as I have a daily driver/winter car. The only CC policies Ive found require 10 years of licensed driving experience, which are through Lant.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated, thanks everyone.

^ +1 on this info. I'm curious as well. I'm gonna need insurance as well, and I don't want to just be getting doors slammed in my face as soon as I say "Skyline"

Its not hopeless as you may seem, apparently RBC is now picking up all the RHD vehicles, and dejardins does it but they are only interested in doing stock cars, so if you think naming off all your mods to increase value think twice as they wont insure you learned that the hard way. So those two are the only real hope, and its what is killing the value of everyones cars as no one wants to buy something you cant put on the road.

And come onnnnn, RBC! Nice to hear that some insurance companies aren't TOTAL losses!

Yes, but please use this sparingly, as much as I would love to help the community calling them every other day with different cars etc will throw red flags and get them off of the band wagon. But also keep in mind other things affect your policy, I have a clean record and a LHD car I drive in the winter. So they see that hey maybe this vehicles is not a 24/7/365 car that will get banged up in winter and get lots of claims, just be very careful and make sure your clear, because telling them its stock get into an accident and they find ANYTHING not disclosed your coverage is gone and your toast.

This is 100% truue for Dejardins. When I was calling around, they seemed to be willing to insure but yes your car HAS TO BE STOCK! You have to jump through a lot of hoops and sign a lot of papers but its doable. I got denied because my car was modded (intake, exhaust, wheels....yea huge mods...) and the guy said if there is anything done to the car that increases HP by 1, you will be denied.

I was insured with statefarm along with my accord + house + life...so i dunno if that helped me getting insured for my gtr.

The only difference is with the accord they never took pics of the car, but when i got insurance with the gtr the broker came over and took pics lol.

Moved on though, gtr is with Lant.
