    a/c help

Not sure whats wrong with my a/c, every now and then it will blow cold air but then it will go straight back to being hot. Would a simple recharge fix it or could it be something else?

Most likely your R12 is running low. Since R12 is no longer legal to use for automotive AC you will need convert to R134A.

You can also check the connection on your interior and exterior temp sensors.

When the exterior one is disconnected/faulty it makes the heater blow full heat. It may just be loose.

I just took my interior temp sensor out. I found it was covered in dust and other dirt. I used electrical cleaner and it seemed to work great. Plugged it all back together and tested both the high temp and the low temp, with and without the A/C. That fixed my problem. That sensor can get really gummed up with detailing product and dust.
    Good luck!

You can still get the recharge cans of R12 at some Truck Stops!
