    powersteering problem

i have a little problem with my car. its a 1990 GTR AWD AWS

i have no power steering at all. and when you look in the bottle and turn the steering wheel the fluid staYS Still.
would this be the pump? or is there a solenoid that regulates the pressure?

also when i start the car the brake pedal pulsates like the abs kicks in.. but only when i start the car any idea what could cause this?

    thanks

Did any power steering fluid leak at all? Perhaps the pump went, I would start by checking that. The AWS (Hicas) has a sensor that engages at a certain speed (70km/h I believe). If this sensor or your speed sensor is faulty, this could result I'm an error code. I imagine that would cause your abs to engage.

When I had the similar brake pedal issue, it ended up being my Hicas ECU.

    Good luck!

there is a small leak underneath the car where one of the hoses from the rear steering goes to the back of the transfercase??
if the front pump went where would i be able to get one?
and copuld the hicas ecu cause all my issues maybe if it has gone?

    thanks

It's hard to say for sure what's the cause of it, but the ABS engaging could definitely potentially be a speed sensor (although I haven't heard of faulty sensors being a common issue with the R32s)

If you find your PS pump is gone, contact RightDrive, I'm sure Daryl could get you one.

    Maybe this can help.

You could have a fuse in there that either has to much amp or too little. Someone could of put the wrong one in and you think that's the original amp. Maybe check out your wiring. Could have a bad ground or split wires.

Hopefully its nothing to hectic! Good luck

the one that keeps popping is the one that says 10A eng. control.. but why would that cancel out the p.s?

and also the 10A elec parts was blown too?

Im not fully sure on this, but if that fuse control's some of the HICAS and it blows I know for sure it leads to heavy steering. I took out my cluster once and drove the car and I had heavy steering because there wasn't anything detecting speed. Once I plugged it all back in it was fine.

So maybe your P/S pump is fine. Just an electrical issue. I dont know the whole system from memory so I could be wrong.

another question too. i bought the consult scan tool but when i try to load the program on my laptop it wont read the .rar file?
