1st Official GTRC Go Karting Event

as mentioned in another thread i think GTRC needs something in the winter to channel all the "negative bashing" energy... and what better place to do that than behind the wheel....... of a go kart...

anyways just recently switched over to GPK (electric karts) major bonuses is that you don't smell like gas and you don't get the headaches afterwards... + the karts have pretty good torque and you do actually need to use the brakes at GPK if you want to do well on your lap times, that or a blow torch to really warm up your tires lol. :P

downfall they are remotely speed controlled... but as long as you don't bump each other they won't mess with it and you'll be flying all the way through... karts are also a little wider so little less passing room...

I ussually go like 1-2 times a month during the winter (just went this past thursday)

So im thinking maybe Thursday Jan 10th @GPK at downsview as a Tentative date at like 9:30pm? (dollar a lap on thusdays)

if this gets big in this group i can try to organize what i use to do with the VW guys at Formula kartways... have like a mini race series with formula points... and eventually go up against other car groups/clubs

i can help you out neal. my buddies know most of the guys there. we usually go every monday since its 2 for 1. buy 1 race and get another for free. for people that dont want to go 2 races they usually allow us to just split the race with someone else. plus its usually dead when we go and theres a lot of times that they dont marshall us anymore and just let us go all balls out. there even times i did a pit manuever on my buddies for blocking me and they just let us keep on going. lol.

the reason for GPK is cuz its they're electric, no more gas fumes... lol... but yeah just though to open this up... i ussually go with 1 or 2 friends and we go like 1-2 a month and we've all switched from formula to GPK for the gas reason...

so assasin you hit it up on mondays? yeah im ussually booked on mon-wed so my first open day is ussually thursday... we also figured with 2 for 1 its probably ram packed... but you said its ussually empty?

Its in the East End. Don't feel like commuting so far in the snow. If you hate gas fumes then your getting old Grandpa :P

Oh that I know where that is. Besides gas fumes is half the fun lol. In winnipeg there was a gas one indoor and they waxed the floor so it was pure dorifto lol
