Trying to source an RB26DETT motor/trans set. The ECU with the one I am considering has an F8 on it (Nissan P/N 23710-0W715).
Is this the correct ECU for either an R32 or R33 GT-R?

Hm. Can't say offhand, but the R32 and R33 ECUs are different, and the one you want is the R32 unit, as it can easily be reprogrammed, unlike the R33. Hopefully Sean will know. Or you could also ask on www.skylinesaustralia.com ?

Found my answer through a Nissan parts guy. The R32 GT-R used the following ECU's, identified by part number.
"The R32 with a RB26DETT engine appears to use a 23710-05U60 from 8/91 to 4/92, 23710-05U61 from 4/92 to 2/93 and 23710-05U62 from 2/93 on."
Hope that helps somebody else. Watch out for some of these engine importers, I just had a guy try and give me something else stating that it was the correct ECU, turned out to be for a completely different engine (VG33).
Thanks for the info there Ezzie, post an intro of yourself so we know who this fine character is!
I'm moving this to FAQ as well.

That's some good research. Thanks!
I have an intro posted already. I'm the old fart from Georgetown, ON who is currently doing an SR20DET powered 1973 PL510 in preparation to compete in the Targa Newfoundland rally. I'm here researching the GT-R powertrain as a possible upgrade for my next project, revitalizing a 1973 240Z I also have laying around.Originally Posted by JohnnyZ
