  • GTRCanada @ CSCS Season Opener

I have talked to some officials for CSCS, and they have agreed to have us again for the season opener. I was going to organize our spring cruise before the event, but I don't think very many people would be up that early, seeing as some people will be competing in events and have to be there early. Having said that, I think a standard highway cruise to CSCS will be just fine.

The gates open at 11am on May 31st, so we will need to do our first meet fairly early in order to get there on time. We will have reserved parking, and possibly discount entrance fee's.

    First Stop:

    Square One, 9am sharp.

Second Stop is open for discussion, was thinking either Burlington @ Brant St, or somewhere in Hamilton/Stoney creek (Centennial Pwky?)

We can revise this as we get closer to the event.

I'd love to do the cruise, but I need to be there early as I'll be competing in the time attack.

If I can get this engine finished, I'll be there.

I've been brushing my teeth with jack but it's resulted in terrible amounts of tooth decay.

I'm pretty sure I'll come check this out. Sounds like a good time.
I'd be down for a mini meet and cruise to the event too.

are these events a good place to go if you want to learn to race/drift or are they really meant for seasoned vets?

Track days are best for that sort of thing.

CSCS is pretty beginner friendly, but a lapping day at Dunnville is by far the best way to start out. I find at CSCS it gets pretty choatic during the lapping, firstly because of the sheer volume of cars on the track, and secondly by the amount of noobs. Last event I got passed by 3 consecutive cars in one corner while I was waiting for a point by from the car in front of me:hit newb: . CSCS is a very good good introduction into competition though, the time attack is lots of fun.

It's sad how little interest there is in this. Two years ago we had a pretty solid cruise to this. Now there is a ton of skylines in Southern Ontario, and two people chime in. I'll post up in Eastern Region to see if anything changes.
