i put a cat delete in this week, and replaced muffler with straight pipe, i love the sound, its just 3" pipe right off the turbo to the back of the car, i love it!

Cat light also acts as a engine check light. Found this out when screw / diagnostic pot on side of ECU wasn't set to run properly and cat light was lighting up when hitting bump in road. It was switching between diagnostic, run.

Engine should run leaner, as aftermarket exhaust can raise boost level by 0.3bar for 3" or more (depends on size of exhaust). The leaner A/F ratio is where the extra hp comes from.

I have a screamer pipe, to blitz dowpipe, to decat (test pipe), to full 4 hks resonated mid and catback. Really nice deep tone and not too loud. I havent had any problems with my check engine light coming on, but I left my cat overheat sensor off so thats the only light that shows up.

Your hks exhaust system sounded a bit louder then mine in person, so with a downpipe and test pipe your car may be quite a bit louder. I think it will also run a bit richer too.

Truth is, one more person without a cat is not going to kill the earth....

Thats like people that buy electric vehicles because they want to be friendly to the earth, "oh i just plug it in and it drives!!", what they dont think about is the huge factory pumping out tons and tons of smoke to charge their car...

My car came with a test pipe (take it it gets rid of the cat?), sounds great, and passed inspection.... Im in sk though, so we dont have any of this emissions stuff.

meanwhile, super tankers burning bunker fuel continue to produce massive amounts of pollution. Going after cars is a feel good move at best.
