Then an R35 which is then cheaper will blow your doors off (cause they can make 800hp without that 30-50k you spent) while drinking timmies with a set of golf clubs in the back. Oh, don't forget the ZR-1 who's also just passed you. In the end, I guess you have a nice R34 but for what you're getting, you're behind the real monsters

You can have all of that for $30k all in without to much effort. My car would stomp the hell out of a ZR1 and a COBB GTR and I only have about $15k into mine. It's not pretty but like the Millenium Falcon, she's got it where it counts.

You are always WAAAYYYY ahead money wise if you buy someone elses project car (completed of course), I found a receipt in my car for $16k that only covered half to the stuff that was done to it. They built it, had fun with it and moved on, if it didn't blow up for them or you in the first 6 months or so then you know the shop did kick-ass work. I've reved it to 9000 rpm more times then I would like to admit (she gets away from you pretty quick if you lose focus for a millisecond) and no issues yet, they did good work.

The standard r34 is more rare to find that the vspecs. There were more vspecs produced than standard!

so you want a vehicle that doesnt exist... many of us do it happens...

the v-spec II was released in aug of 2000.... so its gonna be kind of hard to get one with a january 1999 build date

That's why I will keep the 34 forever. Once I get it I will modify everything and enjoy it for a really long time! And if I can afford it I will get a rb30 if not I will do some nice rb26 work. And devoting my life to cars is just what I do. For the last 4 years all my funds went to my car and they always will because a car will always supply me with enjoyment! I appreciate every bit of these cars and once the 34 gets here I will no longer buy any other toys

Taking the r34 and putting money into it is more worth my while in my opinion. I understand modding a car is not worth it to most because of the loss but I love working on the cars. Why do people with gremlins and pintos put money into them, because they go faster? Not at all, it's strictly for the love of the car and to go fast in the car they love. Come 2014/15 you will see me in a 34 gtr with some serious mods done to it. I have spent some good cash on the car I have now but I will go all out on the 34. Too each his own. And I doubt after putting a built rb30 in a r34 will the new gtr blow the doors off it!!!!
So you're going to pay around 40K for a 34 and the drop in a different engine? It would probably better just to find a shell or blown engine.

I totally agree with C-Unit if I would get the r34 I would just do some minor mods .Just appreciate the car for what it is if you really like it that much ,putting all you're life into you're car really isnt worth it,someone could take all that work of yours in a sec.

I'm just going to keep the 32 ,now days theres no point selling these cars when you previously paid 20k+ and also dumped another 20k in it.

I'm saying for the same value of the new gtr I could have a equally fast r34. That's it.

This whole argument is kind of circular really. Every car has a car that is faster out there, it all depends on what you like and what you want to spend. Everyone had different preferences so arguing one over the other is kidn of stupid. This is why ford versus chevy forums exist. Personally I like the R34, and even if an R35 is faster I would still prefer it because I like the basic driving purity of no traction control, and shifting my own gears. Other people would like as you said the R35 or a ZR1, or even a Bugatti Veyron SS. However whatever makes you happy is most important.

Oh, even an EVO X will be WAY cheaper to build up which can spank that R34 with the same power but hey, atleast you'll have a car that's barely street legal, if that at all by the time they're 15 years old lol
But it's a R34!!! Chances are...I am just going to buy it and slap a nismo kit, wheels + coilovers. I've learn my lesson from my R32. NEVER TRY MODDING AN OLD CAR TO COMPETE WITH THE NEW ONES...it's not going to work. They make new cars for a reason..lol
