I'm very against making a single turbo looks like the GTR, it's wrong in so many ways It just shows to everyone around that you're a poser. (sorry!)

I met the owner of EVLGTR last weekend, he's got an R33 GTR V-Spec in midnight purple now.

I'm debating about having this one shipped down to Vancouver when I come back. The shipping container is about $4000 and can fit four cars. Mine's a '98 so it'll be good to drive on the road by Late 2012. (remember a 1998 car was actually manufactured in 1997) I'm coming back to Canada in May 2012, so the timing is going to be just right.

Because there's room in the shipping container, I'm thinking about putting out a feeler to see if anyone else would be interested in getting an R34. I can do the shopping and get the cars inspected and whatnot. Let me know if anyone is serious about it, we have 11 months to put something together.

I plan to buy one a year ahead of time and then ship it over the year of. All my cars will get cleared out soon to be able to afford a r34 Gtr. Definitely worth it. 3 r32's for one r34 I would do any day of the week if it's a decent condition r34 Gtr.

Thats good man. And yeah I understand, bnr34s are just rediculously high priced, GTT is a wonderful sub in for the money!

and yeah thats what I've been told, Turbo cars and awd cars are limited for learning drivers. I first started reading about AUS regulations when the old EVLGTR was wrecked by the owners son a few years ago.

I paid $16000 for the GTT. The prices here are very similar to those in Canada. But the R34 GTR costs at least 50k, and I could have bought one, but then I wouldn't have a dime left. The GTR is going to keep its value for a very long time too, so don't expect to ever buy one for 10-15k like you can the R32 GTR.

Oakville: I have to admit in the pictures the GTT looks really lame compared to the GTR, but in real life it's a beauty The car is really low to the ground, the GTRs are just that much lower.

The graduated license is crazy here. Learners permit is 1 year minimum, then you get Provisional 1 for 3 years and provisional 2 for 2 years before you get your full license. On a L or P1 license you can't drive turbo, AWD, or V8 cars and have your speed maxed out at 80kph (even if you're on a 110 highway), P2 license is maxed out at 90. So lame. But the Canadian license is equivalent, you can just show up, buy a car and drive it no problems.

Nope, Quebec is still 25 yrs. On a side note: I heard from two senior toronto police officers that, and I quote, "a permanent ban on new registrations of RHD in ontario is right around the corner". With the amount of idiots buying Japanese imports and getting silly in them, crash numbers in RHDs have become an epidemic in the GTA.

RGB: aha nice man. Most guys would say skip the GTT and give'r to the GTR, but hey, an R34 is an R34 in my books....just doesnt look as aggressive, no offence . I've spent months in Perth myself (before I was of legal age, unfortunately) and the abundance of nice cars is just awesome. Police presence is significantly higher, and they also have incredibly stricter graduated licensing rules. I've been on 4 continents and nothing compares IMO to Canada...I'll never leave my oakville bubble.

Not everyone can afford GTRs, so sometimes you gotta settle for he ugly sister, so to speak.

And there should be lots of R34s around by 2020, most guys that say they'll get one are like the guys that said they'd get a 32 back when they came out, but never got one. R32s are cheap but the r34 won't be so you can bet your a$$ there will be some left cause the pasty dreamer kids will still not be able to afford one. Almost anyone can buy a porsche but not everyone can afford one. So don't worry, unless you're struggling to buy one now which would mean you'd spend all your cash buying one and not have cash to fix it when it does break...

On a negative note, the new GTR is almost a belly button car here as there over 10 of em and we don't have 70k population here. Seems like most people have some kind of fast car. Lots of mustangs, camaros, transams, challengers chargers, sho, evos; sti... List goes on...

General consensus around here is that the BNR32 is a funner car, more aggressive. But R34 love is very strong

The problem with Australia is that there are speed cameras everywhere, and there's 0 tolerance on speeding, and cops can apparently pull you over with absolutely no motive needed other than "random breath test". And after they randomly breath test you and you pass they go over your car with a fine toothed comb and eventually fine you for something, doesn't matter what. All the cops here need to make quota, the police organization is a disgusting fundraising project funded by the government. It's not at all like Canada. Plus canadian roads are much nicer because they're asphalt instead of cement, and we resurface them semi-regularly (except Quebec lol). Trust me, Canada is the best country in the world, other countries are just different variations of the same old BS.

TCK: did they lift the ban on RHD car registration there? I didn't hear any news.
Oakville: Yeah, I'm going to be here for 1 year and I posted on FB: Can someone tell me why it's not a good idea to buy an R34? And there were 20 replies saying do it, so I couldn't help myself.
