I'll never understand why they devote such large resources to finding grey market vehicles. There's gotta be a million better uses of the tax payers money than crushing an old car and prosecuting its owner.
Looking for cheap parts? supguyex (Jon) is parting out his car. Good prices, good guy.

Couldn't agree more , but this is the USA we are talking about where Jersey shore rules , Jerry springer is president and the average body weight is 400+ lbs . The US is the most bizarre country in the world . The population is deliberately dumbed down so they don't notice the doom looming on the horizon .

In a short while grey market cars will be forgotton about when the civs finally take up their arms and execute their corrupt government . It's going to happen ''''' Soon (tm). That or they will be driving their 57 chevys around their local fema camps.

Long live the Kardashians (not) .. wheres the crack pipe ?

I really don't know much about Skyline legality in the USA, but it's more of a waiting game they play when waiting for the Feds to seize their vehicles (correct me if im wrong).
Brown County Deputy District Attorney Dana Johnson offered Beno a plea deal wherein he would accept the misdemeanor charges and give up both fully restored Skylines. After offering to pay the fines and help the authorities find buyers for both machines overseas, the prosecutor declined. Instead, both cars will be crushed and sold for scrap.
That there is a sign of a true enthusiast, caught in the wrong place at the wrong time, as they decided to make an example of him. I did see seized RHD vehicles going up for auction for export only though? The crown must have it out for RHD vehicles!

I always thought Big Bird was Motorex'd btw?

I agree if it's not legal font do it, but that car has been in the states for years and they knew it and they just now decide to take offence to it..... Least let him have a chance to register it as track only :/

you guys are missing the point. the felonies he got were for conspiracy to commit fraud. he was dumb enough to tell the potential buyer (little did he know that he was govt) that he can help them illegally register it. that was his mistake. its not like he was minding his own business just driving the car. he was trying to profit illegally and that is an offense no matter where you are.

Man Agrees To Crush His Nissan Skyline GT-R To Avoid Jail Time

I appologize in advance if this is a repost, or in the wrong forum

Authorities in Wisconsin are bound and determined to crack down on gray market vehicles. According to Stevens Point Journal, In 2010, the state government orchestrated a sting to catch Justin Beno selling two Nissan Skyline models, one of which played a role in the Fast and Furious franchise. A Wisconsin Department of Transportation investigator spotted both a 1995 and a 1996 Skyline up for sale and pretended to be a buyer. The investigator asked if it were possible to get the cars titled, and Beno said he believed the vehicles could be titled in Florida, then retitled in Wisconsin.

This was not the correct answer. The government seized both cars and charged Beno with a spate of offenses, including two felony counts of conspiracy to commit fraud, one felony count of owning a vehicle without a vehicle identification number tag and two misdemeanors tied to those missing VIN tags. Beno said he had originally purchased the cars as bare shells without the tags and that the seller later mailed them along. He also says he didn't know it was a crime to simply own a car without its VIN tag attached.

That's particularly heartbreaking after Beno spent years assembling both from parts bought from all over the world. It's made worse by the fact that in just a few short years, both cars will be exempt from federal safety and emissions standards for vehicles over 25 years old. Head over to Beno's site to see the Big Bird Skyline that's headed for the reaper.
