I've yet to see an R33 GTR Series 3 V Spec up against an R34 GTR stock for stock. Both got the more advanced awd system and weigh roughly the same. If that match up proves to be somewhat even then I see no reason for anybody to hate on the R33. The R34 is just as big and just as capable as one so whats really the difference aside from a few comfort additions, different cams, and also the fact that the R34 ignition setup is prone to failing, R33 setup is better.
I think the R33 GTR is as sexy as it gets, well rounded, has the absolute sexiest rear of them all, and has a very good price tag in todays market compared to the insanely expensive R34 for what you get.

Aside from the fan boys who love the R32 and R34, the R33 GTR can step in and easily take their places (and it has a faster time on the nordschliefe). Although its labelled as the "bastard', you shouldnt judge a book by its cover

With that being said, the R35 is just an absolute monster. I consider it a cheater with all its amazing technology. Kinda like a medeival warrior going up against a Marine with all his guns and scopes

I'm not sure about this. There are a few R33s around the Maritimes but non of them come to the track but there's been several R32s and an R35. What does that tell ya???

R33 would be more stable compared to R32 due to longer wheelbase on R33. But R32 has better turn in and handling due to shorter wheelbase, but is more unstable. R34 wheelbase was supposed to be the middle ground between the two.

R35GTR is better again, with faster corner speeds due to better lateral balance (advantage of V configuration with engine). It's something Nismo did testing with on JGTCC / SuperGT cars with straight, V configurations. Faster corner speeds = faster laptimes.

If want a faster older GTR, fit a R35GTR engine. Best of both worlds.

I would love to see this^ the motor probably isn't even any heavier due to an aluminum block. Hmmm would be very interesting and mega $$$$ to get everything to fit properly (transmission included) r34 with the new motor/trans.

i love r32s cause i have one... but the r33s go around the nuremberg ring faster than the r32s and the r32s go around faster than the

Good thread. Lots of good points from opposite viewpoints.

The purest in me votes for the R32 GTR as a dedicated track car to learn on and modify. I mean ya the new GTR's are fast in many venues and ground breaking, but how much can you really learn about car dynamics by tracking one on the weekends? The car assists in everything. Even WRC banned the paddle shifter this year in the name of purity.

I can see how people think the R33 is a bastard child... But isn't the Infiniti G35 / Nissan Skyline (in japan) the REAL bastard child? Did that even come in GTR trim in Japan? Or was smoky nagata's 350km/h wangan car technically the only one?

Also I'm just coming from the Honda world, had 250hp n/a civic 4dr track/show/daily. But that car is gone and now I have my heart set on the R33 GTST sedan, for varrying reasons. Not a fan of the R33 coupes ass end to be honest. The sedan looks soo good from behind though, imo.

Anyway how does the r33 sedan fair on the track? I know with some cars the wagon versions are better balanced front to back vs their sedan counterparts. Wondering if anyone has any insight or data how the R33 sedan compares to the coupe.

How these cars work on the track is almost irrelevant as a vast majority of owners piddle around on the streets and their cars never see a track.
Which car is better doesn't matter if it suits the driver and more importantly it's what the owner likes.
All this stuff about how fast a car is around the "Ring", 0-60 times, 1/4 mile times ect is all just something the owner can (and has no right to) brag about.
What really matters IMHO is how fast YOU can get YOUR car around a track. I saw a guy smoke a Ferrari around a track with an almost stock Civic. Theres a video on YouTube somewhere of two AE86s beating an R34 GTR around a track. Sabine Schmitz passing sport bikes around the Ring with a Ford truck.
The car is the tool but unless you've got the skills and the venue to use the tool properly the magazine numbers are just that... numbers.
                  End of rant.

i dont think thats accurate. driving both on the track. The differences are so small that it would come down to the driver not the car..

I dont care what information is posted. What car ran faster on what track.

I can be confident in saying that you are not nearly as good of a driver than the person that posted those times.

So that info does not matter.

All skylines are amazing. They all have their ups and downs. You can make a front wheel drive civic as fast as a modified r32 with enough money. Any car can be modified to be as fast as you want (obviously I know there is a limit to every car just generally speaking) some like the 32 and would drive nothing else and some swear by 33, 34 etc. it's all personal preference. I don't think any of them are truly better all around.

People who actually track their cars don't discuss this at all anyways. More reserved for street posers and video gamers

Guys, they are all extremely well built platforms and all can be faster or slower than one another, it all comes down to personal preference and biases. I personally prefer an R32 to a 33, I own a 32 however, I plan on getting an r34 GTR when i have the cash. Also i prefer r34 to r35 dont ask me why i just do. I also, prefer a 32 to a 35.... so what im saying is.. r34>r32>r35>r33 IMO
