  • R33 GTR V-Spec Part-Out

Recently purchased this car from RIGHTDRIVE.CA. I have to say a couple things in reference to this. One, is that Ontario has a different system then other provinces, and as a point of advice, IF you are buying a vehicle that is not from your province, make an attempt to familiarize yourself with that provinces laws. As such you will avoid what i did. Suffice to say i almost got arrested by Quebec Law Enforcement AND i did get arrested by State Troopers in the state of Maine. Very difficult time getting this new sweetheart home BUT. Huge but. RightDrive.ca has given me immaculate service and understanding based on what happened to me. In my opinion, the best customer service out there. They helped me with various problems and overall were making the extra "costs" of this vehicle worth the effort and trouble i went through to get it. Unfortunately i can't do the car justice because it's in he garage but here are some pics of it in storage currently.
Just wanted to say i appreciate the service and support of RightDrive.ca and the amazing car i got from them. I will recommend them to anyone looking to get a quality car.

Newly installed HID lights. (first time with them and loving them)

(newly bought Red LED lights for dash from Dan666 via Skylines Australia)

Sorry for the night photos, but the car is black and hard to see at the best of times.
    Thanks all!

No, no mods. Only thing that isn't stock is the rims and the exhaust system. i wanted it completely stock. My plans are to stay that way...
I ran into alot of issue here on the east coast trying to mod the previous car and i won't want to deal with that again. preferably that is..

Black R33 GT-R, nice choice! Is it original KH3 black from the factory or repainted?

Wow, that's a very nice car! I got my Celica from Right Drive, and I'd have to agree that they have damn good customer service.

So what did the Maine law enforcement have to say? :P lol

Original black R33 GTR. Only repaint was clear coat on the hood as it faded. We had this done in Ontario.
Glad everything worked out well Jason.

why would you get arrested in the US unless you were speeding or something?

hahaha i got a couple records in that regard. There is one R33 GTST i seen but i've got the only GTR so far in Saint John. I know one of the boys here has a Purple on from Fredericton. He has had it here for a bit, long before me. He has the first one in NB i believe!

haha alright, the story from Maine/Quebec. it's long so bear with me.
Ontario law for used vehicles says that you can take the old plates from a previous vehicle and attach them on a newly purchased vehicle for up to 6 days. This allows you to get it registered within that period. It was especially important for me, because i bought the car on the weekend and everything was closed. I could not wait until Monday, because i had to work. SO i drove my new skyline with the old skyline plates (which in Quebec and new Brunswick is illegal). I get to the border of Maine (border agents ask where i have been, what i have been doing and what i want in regards to passing through the US). I tell them i went to Ontario to buy a car. They say "well how do you have the car registered if you just bought it. you have plates on it". I say "well in ontario you can do that, and when i get the car home i am registering it there". They take our passports and while we wait they put an APB out for my arrest. They come back and ALLOW ME to pass into the US. So a half hour down the road i get stopped by state troopers. I explain the whole story, and they arrest me and escort me back to the border that i came from. Key here is that i was less then an hour away from north Maine to get to south new Brunswick. they make me go back to the south Quebec border. SO i get to the border and i tell the US customs officer she's a c+nt for letting me through when she just put out an arrest warrant. She could have told me then and there i was going to be arrested. Suffice to say she tried to take the car on me and i took off to Canada's side of the border. THEN she calls Canada's side and tells them I'm driving my car illegally. They hold me for Quebec police to come. Out of all the things they could have done, they confiscated my plates because they are illegal. I get a fine for it. I guess that is better then having the car impounded, being taken to jail, court and the whole works. The cop sent me on my way. So, I'm driving a right hand drive car, all the way around south Quebec to north, to lead to north new Brunswick to come back to Saint John, NB (you don't get any more south then that). Without plates. Cops tried to stop me twice but i played ghost games with them until night came and i could get home without any issues.
Anyone can top that story, all the power to ya. I had a mental breakdown, i swear it. lol

it's illegal to drive old plates on a new car that aren't registered in the US. it's illegal in alot of places actually but not in Ontario. I just figured that because i bought the car there, cops would allow me to go by that standard of law. They didn't though.
