        Intrested

I would be intrested in an adaptor or two to go from a RB26DETT to the R32 / R33 transfer case to keep the 4WD.
What do people have in mind so far ?

            Adaptor plate

            Running either :

1 a viper box (TR-6060 / T56 magnum) with whatever internal strengthening is available for the twin turbo Underground Racing

            2 a G Force GF-2000

            3 a Liberty LSC5100

            sounds like a good idea...

What is required is to achieve this ?
I guess a bell housing or and an adaptor to get the engine joined to the transmission.
Another adaptor similar to the Liberty RB26 4WD drag box to attach the transfer box.

The RB25 auto box has a seperate bellhousing so that either needs to be adapted to the new gear box or use a viper, corvette or gt500 bell housing (asuming a T56 or TR-6060).

Thinking about it I'd opt for the bell housing which goes with the block and adapt at the bell housing to gearbox interface. I think that could be less work / weight.

i thought it was tremec t56, and corvette has a rear trans, the camaor/fire chicken had a tremec t56

C6 has the transaxel, C5 had a traditional trans like the Camaro/Firebird. Was BorgWarner, now Tremec.

Hmm may be I was wrong with the Corvette. However, the T56 is used on some high torque OEM cars. The TR-6060 is rated by Tremec at 700 lb ft capacity.

                        T-56 comes in
                        Cobra-R/Camaro/Viper/Cobra-Terminator/ all above 350FT LBS

TR-6060 should be rated @ more than 700 LB FT, it comes in the 2013 GT500 which is underrated @ 650 FT LB guess they keep it low for warranty issues.

To make this work we would need :

1 to choose which gearbox we are trying to adapt ?
2 then draw the chosen gearboxes / bell housing interface.
3 to measure to shaft dimensions coming out of the front of the gear box. We would need the length, spline size and diameter info.
4 to get hold of an RB25DET bell housing from an auto boxed Skyline or Stagea and from this draw the intergace to the auto gear box. A further thought here is the auto bell housing able to be converted into a manual set up.
4 use both of these drawings to devise an adaptor.

Any one got any of the above info ?

The T-56 was used in the C5 and C6 'Vette in a transaxle variant. The BW T-56 was built by Tremec after '98, but it was still the same trans internally. That's probably where the confusion is.

I think this would cover most applications http://www.rsgear.com/products/trans...tranzilla.aspx
Rated up to 1200 hp and 1000 ft/lb...
I am not sure if it is a T56 type box.

According to Tremec (http://www.tremec.com/performance/fo...ad.php?t=11142) the T56 and TR-6060 share the same bolt hole pattern.

Another piece of info is that for some twin turbo Viper's the gear box was swaped for a G Force GF-2000 unit.

It is of course possible that the adaptor could designed with two potential gear box hole paterns in it.

Sorry, I'm getting old, to me a C4 was like yesterday. C4s after 1991 to 1996 used the BW T56. The trans axel version was basically the same but with no bellhousing and the diff bolted right to the output shaft in place of the tailshaft housing.

The record holding fastest 6spd twin turbo Viper in the world used a Tranzilla-ized Tremec......they may have upgraded from last year but it still held together after several 170mph passes.

                                Post some pics FOOT.
