i never use EMT, one because of this reason, and 2 my bank doesnt do the service so i ALWAYS do paypal. man that sucks... maybe make a complaint with the bank, they might be able to do something...

Read the paypal user agreement and be careful when sending money through paypal as a gift. There is a reason there are no fees when sending money as a gift. Nothing is free anymore
You pretty much give up all fraud protection and you could argue that EMT being connected to banks would give you a tiny bit of protection. Paypal would most likely group sending money as a gift under "personal payments".

From the paypal user agreement:

"Personal Payment" means amounts sent between two individuals (not to or from a business) without a purchase. Examples of Personal Payments include sending a gift to a friend or paying a friend back for your share of a lunch bill.


13.3 Ineligible Items. PayPal Purchase Protection only applies to PayPal payments for certain tangible, physical goods. Payments for the following are not eligible for reimbursement under PayPal Purchase Protection:

Nope EMT. Almost every person i've dealt with on this forum uses EMT. Havent had an issue until this scum. Wont be using it anymore though i can tell you that.

incorrect.. ive made a lot of transactions and only do EMT for people ive delt with before or have a lot of good positive feedback. as a buyer you can ask to pay using paying just have to pay the fee. it has no affect to the seller at all..

edit: and the fact that hes telling you his mom has to uninstall the parts from the car and the pictures on the for sale thread shows the rev limiter sitting on a table.. something isn't lining up there..

Emt is fine. When you buy high end parts worth more than $300 (say $5000), PayPal takes a big chunk! Then again, I've sold many parts where the buyer didn't mind paying 4% more for PayPal. And other times they trusted me. Try sending your engine, tranny outside the country if you think buying a $300 part is scary with any payment method lmao.

There are just crooks out there and that's that. Research more careful who you buy from. Emt is ok in the right circumstances.

if your buying something that expensive consider wire transfer or use payline by ice......

$300 part pllus paypals 3% which equals 9$ is nothing
