I have a 2010 GMG with a Switzer R1K package installed.
I can tell you I'm not rich (but in significant debt), and definitely am passionate about cars - I've eaten, slept and dreamt racing (legally of course) for over 25 years.
I appreciate all of the Skyline heritage - I recognize that the GTR lost it's Skyline name, the inline 6 and manual - but let's not forget that it has represented Nissan with distinction.
That and the fact that it is the R35.
That is all the heritage I need.
Peace.Last edited by vtknight; 04-19-2012, 11:45 PM.

I like the R35 and consider it an evolutionary GTR.
Without evolution we would have stone wheels and animal skin roofs!
The 32 GTR was the raw form of AWD and the generations after
Just grew in technology.
Would be interesting if someone of our Japanese members
Could get an answer from Gosen the CEO as to why the name Skyline was omitted.Favorites

Damn, a lot of people on both sides of the fence here. I always wanted the R34 but the R32 was all that was available at the time. Now that I have sold that, the modern amenities of a new car have grabbed me by the balls lol. I'm on the R35 side now. They are a lot of money but the fastest stock thing I can afford... Used that is lol. Problem now is I can only afford a three year old one but I need a 2012+ model year lol. See you in 2015?2015 Audi RS7 Sepang Blue
2009 Yamaha R1 Raven Black - SOLD
2005.5 Audi S4 Sprint Blue Pearl - SOLD
1989 Nissan Skyline GTR - SOLD

I think you go with what you like...it is great to have pride in the heritage of the car you drive - I'm all for (and feel it myself) - but to say that a car - manufactured by Nissan - given the R35 designation by Nissan - given the name GTR by Nissan - and representing Nissan as its Halo car as the next in the GTR's generation isn't a true GTR - is - well - very silly.
Nissan makes that decision - not previous owners - even if that angers some traditionalists.
In the end - we own a piece of THEIR (Nissan's) legacy - not our own.
That plus the fact the R35 is really a fun car to drive - both road course and drag - and is a supercar killer (even without mods).
With mods - there is almost nothing on the street - besides other GTR's - that can challenge it.

Thank-you for your kind words - I finally have the setup together. My build was finished in October - I had my stock tires and stock LC (2200 RPMs) - so I didn't even use my race fuel settings at all (and still haven't).
I now have R888's and a custom LC4 that revs to 4800 RPMs. I'm actually going to Cayuga tommorw - but its really cold - so I don't know if I will be able to try my race fuel settings until it warms up. I'm actually just hoping to try my full pump gas settings (800 awhp).
I ran a best of 10.3 at 143 MPH on my pump gas setting with a 2 second 60 foot (no LC as my turbos spool above 2200 RPMs) and stock burnt rubber.
Here's a fun video of a guy who GoPro'd me without my knowledge...it was all in fun - I was on setting one of 8 boost levels - no LC - about 625-650 awhp...
I will keep everyone updated...
Cheers!Last edited by vtknight; 04-22-2012, 01:25 AM.
