Easy way to fight tickets....don't speed!

Simple way to combat the amount of speeding/illegal exhaust tickets everyones been getting, and the threads here coming to find solutions. Stop breaking the damn law, stop bitching about it, and everythings a-okay!

I'm not advocating speeding because really no one should be speeding but I hate when middle aged people use these generic "finger waving" lines.

I don't know how old you are falcon, but common, you were never young once? you never did anything you weren't supposed to? you've never sped in a car?

Oh yes it is. That's the beauty of it. Are you willing to take the risk?

I COULD tell you how to beat it, because I know exactly what to do in this situation but I won't. I'll let you figure it out yourself like I did.. It involves a bit of leg work, and sending in a request for discovery. I've said too much.

You should only have to pay additional court fees which will be like 50$ more if you lose. f you win you pay nothing.

Make sure to request the prosecution case against you (in french its called "divulgation de la preuve")....it will contain the officers notes and everything they will be using against you in court...they are required by law to provide it to the defendant (if requested).

I would also amend your first post since you admitted to guilt in it and anyone could print this off these boards and use it in court.

Good man. Fight it for sure. He should have showed you his read-out (I believe if you ask to see the reading, the officer must show it to you, but is not required to provide it if you don't ask) to show your actual speed. If not, then it was an estimation and probably will get thrown out

If your court date is more than 12 months away you cab argue a charter violation 11(b) and any JP will toss it. Go through the steps, the system is there to help as much as hurt.
And whoever above that said the cop showing radar proof.... Not sure what you mean
The proof is his word. He has no proof of what you were doing. A digital reading shows up and tells you how fast and at what distance. That info on the laser is not saved for officer recollection. His observations are the ticket. He observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed, activated his laser ad received a reading. The officers evidence on the back of his ticket is all that matters. Challenge his evidence, not the fact that you were speeding.

I got my my radar dectector on flea bay for around $100. The seller shipped it as "auto electronics" to get it past the border. I got caught with it about a year later... 3 points and a $170 ticket. It did save me from multiple 50km/over tix and i learned a lot from the cop that confiscated it... Most cops use radar now which makes any radar detector on the market useless because by the time your detector picks up his lazer its too late. Cop cars can get your vehicle speed whether your in front, behind or beside the cruiser. SOME cruisers now carry RDD's (radar detector, detectors) the new ones do not emit a signal, only receive signals. If you do get one keep it out of veiw and unplug it the second it goes off.

My friend just got a ticket for doing 130 in a 90 zone. the cop gave him a $170 ticket and since my friend lives in BC, but was caught speeding in Alberta there wont be any points deducted from his license. Best thing you can do is pick yourself up a radar/laser detector for a couple hundred bucks. It's saved my ass a few times.

fight it, when you go to court, the cop gets a call, 1 of 3 things will happen. The cop wont show to court and the case will be thrown out, 2)He'll show up and have to bring radar proof and your F*cked, or 3) he'' show up and have no radar proof, and youre good to go..so fight it

regardless you got a ticket. you should have asked for proof that he had you on radar. they can show you. otherwise he was just trying to scare you.
fight the ticket. buy yourself some time. worst case you end up paying the ticket 1.5 years later and the points stay off until you lose at that same time.
