Hey guys after a resolved stutter issue I was having I got playing with and researching about my tps sensor. These sensors apparently are trouble some on rb26s and go bad regularly. I replaced mine with a brand new oem nissan sensor today and it still isn't giving me the voltage at wot that it is supposed to be. At least from what I can find on the internet which is very minimal.
Anyway I was hoping to get some other gtr owners to probe your tps sensor and figure out what voltage yours is putting out. If not for me, do it for yourself because your sensor could be bad and it is easy to do!
You set this sensor with the engine off key on, you want to probe the white or grayish middle wire with a multimeter. From what I have read at closed thottle this sensor should read somewhere between 0.5v and 0.45v. If your sensor does not put this out at closed thottle, you can adjust it by loosening off the top and bottom 7mm bolts on the tps unit and turning it.
*Be careful with these 7mm bolts, I found out the hard way they break easy*
Once you have the tps sensor closed throttle voltage between 0.5 and 0.45 volts you can check for wide open throttle voltage. The easiest way to do this on a rb26 is get a friend to get in the car and put the gas peddle to the floor. From what I read, at wot the sensor should put out 4.5v (or very close to that). Remember you do this with the key in the on position but engine off! You dont have to actually rev the engine! Once the throttle is released it should quickly settle back down to the initial voltage.
My problem is at wot my brand new sensor only seems to put out at best 3.99v. Maybe this ok, maybe it isn't. The thing about the internet is there is a lot of miss leading information out there and maybe the wot voltage is actually only supposed to be 4.0v. I just wanted a couple other people to check to see what yours is putting out.
Here is a diagram to help people. The tps is the yellow and the red is the connector you want to probe to get the tps voltage (middle white or grayish wire).

thanks in advance!
