Thanks to everyone for the feedback but my problem got solved.
Thanks to Derbeck who diagnosed it in under 10 seconds. The wires on my power steering cap were all twisted and became frayed and touching each
other. I didnt have to solder mine (but that could've easily been the case), I just used electric tape. Anyway after fixing it and resetting my ECU
(pulling the battery) I am on my 2nd week with no HICAS flashing.
So the rear inner tie rods were not causing any issues though they still need to be changed.
    Hope this helps someone.

i'v heard the hicas light on the dash flashes when the battery is at low voltage, don't know if this is true but if the new tie rods don't help that could be the culprit.

I ordered a set of inner tie Rods. Hopefully for this price the quality is not sub-par. OEM are $64. I am getting wheel-hop so the old ones really need to go.

I'll get an alignment when they are installed & see what happens.
Funny thing is that the HICAS is not flashing any codes that i can narrow this down so I'll do the HICAS diagnostics & see what happens.

Lastly, I'll disable the Turbo-timer (old Razo) & see. Read somewhere that a leaking power steering lines, failing alternator/battery will also cause HICAS to flash. Time to get rid of this battery anyway (still have the JDM...270cc... yeah) & see if this clears things up.
    Hopefully something sticks!

From experience with loose HICAS rack parts on my car, no that wouldn't be the cause. You'll notice excessive inside tyre wear if they are a problem and wobbling sound from rear / side where it's loose. It can be loose on HICAS rack side or arms, but it also damages the outside balljoint that arm connects to, so replace both at same time. Also good idea to check hubbearing at same time, as wobbling back and forth is probably not good on hubbearing.

HICAS ECU can flash error codes if speed sensor is wrong (speedo cable problem), steering angle sensor behind steering is faulty, etc. Also alternator being on the way out and HICAS ECU is getting low voltage can be another cause.

HICAS has a diagnostic routine to follow which spits out error HICAS ECU error codes, so you know exactly what's causing the problem -

    Same procedure works on Skylines.

Strange. Hate to pull the "bad connection" card but sadly a possibility.
Also I wonder if the play in your tired inner tie rod ends might be causing it.
Maybe just replace them and see where you end up.
I THINK there is a diagnostic scan for the HICAS. I'm at "work" and don't have access to my manual but maybe do a search and see if anything turns up.

Nothing spirited... just cruising, normal stop & go traffic.

started a topic Yet another HICAS question.

    Yet another HICAS question.

For some reason every now and then my HICAS light is flashing .
Both the rear & front reservoir is full; fuse Ok, car properly aligned.
My mechanic says I need "rear inner tie rods" - could this trigger the HICAS system?
Working...
