The whole "twins are better for a road-course car" theory is completely ignored in J-land. They like to go for the big guns and drive them like they stole them (the way it should be). I will admit though that huge power on a small track would suck (like running the cones in a parking lot) and I wouldn't do it in my car, BUT, you can turn the wick down and reduce power to suit a tiny-ass track. You sure can't pull 300hp out of your ass to run with the big dogs if you are only packing 500hp.

If you don't think a dog-box is streetable, maybe you should drive a Prius or something. If I spend a dime on anything it will be a dog-box, they will last a very long time and you will have shifting so fast, people with think you have an automatic, or you can drive it like you are driving Miss Daisy (and yes, you can drive them like that, all day long).

    Jon .
Never said twins are better, I have personally a huge single. Big power on a road course wouldn't be fun was my only point (which you even agreed with)

If you think a dog box is streetable, you are mistaken, given what I and probably some others, take streetable to mean. When I say streetable, I mean a car that can be driven in the city in traffic with ease and comfort and convenience... Essentially practicality to be driven on a regular basis. If you enjoy dropping a tranny every couple hundred km to inspect it, then a Dog is for you!

It can be street driven but no one on earth would recommend it for a street car.... So the prius comment, not required. But for the record, I'd actually rather drive a prius than a car with a dog box on my commute. As I'm sure many others would too

As for the insurance, it will just like any other performance upgrade you add on your car, will have your insurance denying coverage should you have to get it re-inspected. This is a by-the-book thing as opposed to a "don't do it, you won't get insurance thing". My bad for having it taken incorrectly

Keep it civil, I'm not here to spread lies.

and in my opinion, the power numbers you've been stating are not 'time attack' car numbers, they are drag numbers. 750 or 1000 hp wont be any good for time attack and I can give you the hozer guarantee you'd have more fun lapping with 5-600whp.
If you want an optimal car to lap you need to think about dropping hp. If you just want a fun car to drive max that B out!

I had already looked into it, and it can be made to work. But don't expect it to hold anything close to what it does on rwd cars.

I had price parts for about 6k, and was planning to do all the fitting ,the adapter welding myself, but changed plan.

Edit: Start with a viper trans, already has the bigger shaft

Auto if you ditch AWD. Probably cost about 2500 for GM powerglide and Adaptor plate

I have no desire for American made cars, nor European cars. I have my mind set on what I want and I'm going it. You'll see what happens. It will be crazy when finished

I really do wanna avoid sounding like a jerk and overall negative guy but...

If you wanna ditch awd and want that kind of power buy a supra or 5L mustang. You'll save money and have a car that does the same thing.

link for t56? what others do you suggest terrh? any 'treatments' a guy can do to stock gears? what if a guys ditches 4wd? what options does that open up?

You can drive a clutchless liberty on the street but its not fun and you can't have any traffic lol. Plus billet clutches are about 3400 plus. PPG would be a good option but your still looking at alot of paper for a gearset and by the time it comes in plus installing it. Whats the car being setup for?
