Hey so i didn't know in which section to post this as the car is a GTR from factory but the engine is not the almighty RB26 or anything as "intimidating". Going with the chassis code i decided to post here and i'll post up my other build of my other car in the GTS section.
Ok so firstly no pics at the moment as im on a pc that doesnt have my pics.
So here goes with the background on the car;
The car did indeed start off with the entire GTR assembly from RB26 down to the awd system and was actually one track mindly modified for drag racing with a massive single turbo conversion but unfortunately the engine was thought to be blown and the car was sold to another individual. So owner number 2 didn't want the entire car as he already owns 2 and decided to sell it as a rolling shell (less engine and transmission). As such owner number 3 had a 4 door R32 GTS with RB20DET swap and SR20 gearbox and that shell had seen better days and bought the GTR shell, sold his 4 door as a rolling shell and transplanted the RB20DET & SR gearbox into the GTR. And that's how the car came to be. Truth be told it is still fun and impressive despite being short 600cc another turbo and awd.
What he got the car with:
- Factory Gun Grey Metallic paint (KH2), N1 bonnet lip, 17x9 +18mm offset Desmond Regamasters Marquis Promada wheels, OEM seats, unknown brand 3" cat back exhaust
What he did to the car:
- RB20DET swap, VG30 steel wheel turbo, 300ZX MAF, JDM Sport FMIC, HKS SSQV BOV, RB26 intake plenum (modified to fit), generic cone filter, Walbro 255lph fuel pump, Tein fully adjustable coilovers up front with Tokico shocks in the rear with RS-R drop springs, unknown brand strut tower bar & Moates Ostrich 2.0 for tuning of the chipped factory ECU, GReddy turbo timer, Razo shift knob and re-sprayed the car in R34 Sparkling Silver Metallic (WV2), re sprayed wheels yellow with silver lip.
What i've done to the car:
- Deatschwerks 750cc injectors, HKS GT2540 turbocharger & outlet pipe, Q45 throttle body, ACL race connecting rod bearings, ORC 559 twin plate clutch kit (clutches, pressure plate & chromoly flywheel), Autometer Ultra Lite series boost, water temp, oil temp & oil pres. gauges, Pioneer deck, N1 front bumper & trunk spoiler, re-sprayed wheels in custom metallic purple with silver lip.
So that's the car at present and i just have a few more things to add and i'll continue to enjoy my pride & joy. I'm not worried with the critics about the engine in the car for a few reasons; mainly the cost of buying and maintaining an RB26 (where i am atleast) & i wasn't planning on extracting uber power so the RB20 can do the figures i want comfortably.
I'll try to get the pics from my other PC and upload them but your feedback is welcomed. Oh we don't have a dyno (we just got one on island but the shop itself hasn't opened yet) so no power figures at the moment. Will be posting about my S13 "fun car" in the GTS section.
