  • vacuum tank on brake booster

I was eyeing the layout of my engine bay and noticed that the brake booster has a second tank plumbed into it on the right side tucked under the top of the inner fender .

I have never seen anything like this before , under what principle does it operate with the brake ?

I'm assuming the large brake server that the master cylinder bolts to helps with the braking , I fail to se the function of the second tank - is it an extension so that the main unit can be smaller ?

If I'm not crazy, that's a vacuum pot (also known as a vacuum reservoir canister or pump maybe). Most vehicles have them. I think they assist the vacuum dependent devices when theres not enough vacuum maybe.

If you're looking to lose weight, not the greatest spot to start. I'd Definately lose the AC, heater core, HICAS, rear wiper, idle control valves and hoses (nearly everything under the plenum)...

You can delete that with no issues. Just keep the booster to plenum vacuum line with the inline check valve.

I just did this mod with no problems looks cleaner!

Hahaha just a simple edit and my response was never there to begin with

Nah it won't bring any issues. Obviously do a brake test before merging onto the hwy though lol.

I'll snap a pic and show my setup when I get home tonight or tomorrow

Always wondered if removing it would affect performance, great to hear it doesn't! Thanks!

Which way did the valve go on? Blocking return flow to plenum? I might always delete mine, need to lose more weight.
