well if you find out the numbers that the turbo would put out and then find a similar turbo thats available aftermarket im sure you would be able to figure out the hp gains if any...

without knowing the size of the turbo, or how long it takes to spool and how much boost it can make and at what rpm its really hard to say for certain...
How many kids with A.D.D. does it take to screw in a light bulb?

yah thats what i thought, if i was home i would take some pictures. It is a true Garret turbo and is more than double the size of the stock turbo so im sure there is some decent hp gains. and the same turbo.

Don't use a diesel truck turbo on a gasoline car. Those turbos typically have huge A/Rs on the exhaust turbine to prevent heat related damage from hot diesel exhaust. this allows the exhaust to flow freely away fom the engine and take that heat with it. you will most likely have issues with spool-up using one of those turbos. Also, those 6.5 turbodiesels don't use as much boost as you may think, and that turbo is unlikely to perform very well above 15psi because the stock compression on those engines is 20:1. Remember, that turbo was only designed to support 195bhp on an engine that size.

Whoever ran a cummins turbo on a GTS and didn't gain anything is a complete idiot. The cummins sold in dodge light/medium duty trucks use a Holset HX35 turbo, which will support around 600HP. It's similar in size to a GT35R. He should have got a tune and proper supporting mods before you go and spout off about how bad they are, go look on some Honda and DSM boards and see people making 500 WHP on Holsets, then go ahead and tell me they're crap and no better than the junk ass ceramic stock turbo.

The GM4/GM8 turbos off of a Duramax wouldn't be a great choice, they use a rather small, inefficient compressor wheel and will max out at about 350 horsepower. Who cares if the duramax is 20:1 stock compression, they're a diesel and that really doesn't have anything to do with how much boost they run. Diesels are a totally different animal from gasoline motors, and a turbo that supports 400HP on a diesel can easily support 600 on a gasoline engine.

I used to sell Cumins turbo cores to guys in California all the time. They work just fine. But you have to know what you are buying. Generally the holsets off the the cummins is a safer bet . I would like to see the specs on the Variable vane unit form the Powerstroke. That is a neet piece of kit.

if you match the turbo it would be fine.

reconsidering that diesels typically rev lower you could match up the large a/r.

matching it to a 2.6L would be not an easy task though.

but if you dont mind post up some info about it.
