    HKS BOV Question

I have an old school HKS BOV installed on my RB26 and it has two vacuum nipples - one on top and one pointing south. I noticed the one pointing south though never even had a vacuum line attached to it. Does it need a vacuum source? If so can I just tee into the same line that goes to the top nipple?

This is the next generation to the "old school" BOV I posted (as you can see there is only one connection on the side for the vacuum line and no top nut), and you have to change the spring in order to change the compression, stock was 7 bar? PSI? then I think 12 or 15?. The one you posted has a screw adjuster on top to increase the spring compression for higher boost, thus illuminates the hassle of having to change the spring. If this is what you have the BOV would still open if the other port is block-off. I don't know if you want to take it apart and have a look.....

Yup it looks exactly like that. It has a nut on top for adjusting spring tension, although I'm not entirely sure how to adjust it in relation to boost. There's a vacuum line going to the top-side mount nipple, and the bottom nipple is just left open.

If you want to increase spring tension (to compensate for higher boost pressure) you just tighten the bolt. If there is another nipple at the bottom then it may be some sort of dual stage BOV? You could try teeing off your existing vacuum line to it and see what happens, if the car runs like crap then go back to the old set up.
