    BC private insurance HELP!

Okay guys, I've been popping up on here a lot lately, and i need your help once again!

Im trying to find a private insurer in BC Canada to get comprehensive or collision through, ICBC is not an option for me except for basic coverage of course.

So far this is what I've researched, and its looking grim

Canadian Direct - wont insure Vehicles over 20 yrs
Coast capital savings - wont insure vehicles over 20 yrs
BCAA - Doesn't have Nissan Skyline in their vehicle database

Im still searching. If anyone in BC knows of a company that will insure these cars PLEASE PLEASE let me know, Or if anyone outside of BC KNOWS of a company IN BC that offers comp or collision, again please inform me!

This makes the difference of if i get my new r32 GTR or not as i don't know if i can comfortably drive one in the city with just basic ICBC coverage. Accidents DO happen at the worst of times.

You guys have never failed me in the past, and i hope you can come through this time as well.

    Regard to you all,
    Brent A.K.A Nimblestix

I really cant go with ICBC for optional coverage... Im not eligible for other reasons. Im more than willing to pay the large premiums for optional with a private insurer. Someone out there has got to have their car insured with a private company?

    Thanks

Oh.. you got some bad driving history, and ICBC is charging you like 500000% surcharge.. that would suck..

Honestly i dont know of anyone that uses private insurance..

I dont even have any other coverage.. my skyline has the bare minimum.. if i get into an accident i will repair myself since ICBC just writes off skylines right away.. best they dont even know i was in an accident..

lol make me sound like a douche driver! :P no no not bad driving history, 1 minor accident 7 years ago but that's not why they wont give me full coverage. I literally don't have the option when insuring a vehicle, i do however have to right to minimum coverage at a respectable price with a discount to boot'.

Without getting into detail, ICBC and i are no longer on a "good faith" relationship, perhaps in the future we could be, but as of right now we aren't, and they reserve the right to refuse optional coverage to anyone they choose.

This is why i was hoping to find a private insurer. Which after searching appears there aren't any that are willing to take on a 15+ year old car, and if they would, they wont take a skyline.

So now I've decided to insure with basic as i have faith in my ability's to drive in a safe manor to avoid any at fault accidents and have good judgment as to where the car will be parked to avoid any vandalism or theft.

I figure a good alarm, a fuel cut off switch and a camera on my driveway with a car cover should help avoid her from being stolen. I wish i could find a way to chain the car to my foundation which i will most likely look into, to avoid it from being stolen by tow truck. Im sure i don't have to worry about that last one but ive heard some crazy story's in the past.
I guess i could just rent a garage and store it there...that would solve most of my theft worry's...

    Any suggestions?

Wasnt trying to call you a bad driver.

I just dont know what you mean by bad blood with ICBC.. why would ICBC not like you then? seems odd..

you live in a Bad Area of Surrey? Whalley.. LoL.

Yes, odd, only thing I can think of is maybe they thought you were trying to snowjob them on a vehicle theft or something. You won't get any optional coverage from anyone but ICBC in this province, I've tried. JDMs are bad JuJu to the pirate (oops, I ment private) insurers.
