    Warning: Jk japanese autoparts

Bought a replacement engine for my gtst from this company in Richmond. I bring my car to takeda to get the engine swapped in and they call me and tell me the engine was in a front end collision and the clutch fan is bent, crank angle sensor is broken, water pump is dented in and making a clicking noise, and the rb20 cam gear cover is dented in as well. AND they cant use the new wiring harness because it has been cut/ damaged. This "Jk japanese" place told me the engine had like 40 or 50,000 kms on it and they said there was nothing wrong with it. What a bunch of di*ks. Luckily the parts can be taken off my old rb20 but I dont even want to be stuck with paying the $1680 for an engine thats fu*ked inside out. Haven't called the company yet but I sure as hell will if the engine doesn't work properly once its installed.

1,600 for an rb20? Was that just the engine alone? If that's the case, you dun been raped. I'd have contacted them first before posting up on a message board. Phone them and see what they say. I'd suspect that any used JDM engine with "between x and x km's" is probably a guess at best, or a lie at worst.

But yeah, phone them and see what they say, it couldn't hurt.

    hum,

Don't RB25 usually sell in that range.

I'm guessing it included shipping, but still.

    Good luck

Seems like the first response to a deal gone bad is to post up on gtrc and slander the company. This is getting rediculous. You paid $1680 for an rb20?? And couldnt tell that there was damage when you bought it? This is only one side of the story but you should have shopped around before paying that much. Im sure we all would like a heads up about shady characters out there but reslove the issue first, then share your experience. No sense in talkin trash then putting your foot in your mouth when you find out that the company is willing to work with you.

I never saw the engine it was shipped directly to the shop I am getting the work done at. I don't doubt that they will refund me, its just bs because now I dont have my car for another few days. If they sold quality engines in the first place then it wouldnt be an issue, maybe I just have bad luck though and got a bad engine. cars been nothing but a headache since i got it.
