    Auto to 5 Speed

Well this may be a dumb question not sure. My car was converted from auto to 5 speed in japan. The TCU or TCM or transmission computer whatever you want to call it in the driver foot well is still there. Is it possible to remove this now that the car is a 5 speed?

Or what else besides the transmission does that computer control?

Does the ecu reference it at all?

    Brian

I think your actual ecu takes care of this man. I doubt you'll need it anymore but why do you want to remove it

thanks man. I've tried everything from boost leak testing, to testing and replacing pretty much every sensor and tracing back every wire back to the ecu for resistance. I'm completely stumped. Like i'm chasing a ghost. Here is the thread any imput would be awesome.

    Thanks Man!!

This may not have any relevance but I took out the auto trans computer when I converted my accord to manual. Try it and see what happens.

My car was converted in Japan as well, but the auto ecu was left. I put the proper 5 speed ecu in and gained an extra 50km between fill ups. This was just under normal driving, though. Under boost it still dumps fuel

You have 5spd ecu id assume? the TCM could be removed, ive had to goof around with mine quite a bit in my accord. fairly sure once the auto is gone, its dead weight
