    Also not impressed

So I bought a 1991 gtst a few days ago and love the car. Today I decided to change the oil in it when I got under the car I noticed the entire underbody was covered in oil, then I realised that there was way to much oil on the dipstick, 10 plus liters in the oil pan after I drained it, not including all the oil that was sprayed under the car. People are stupid. Lol

You didn't check the oil before you bought it?

That's one of the first things to check, current condition of all fluids will give you a good indication of how the car has been treated by the previous owner. Be careful in the future man, there are a lot of guys out there who will buy a Skyline for the "Skyline" factor, beat the pi$$ out of it and try to flip it when they get too many tickets and their insurance goes the way of an Apollo rocket.

same as Celica, even before buying my GTR, i lift'd it on and saw underneath it. found a crack'd oil pan and some bad news. Since i wanted the car so bad, I just dropped the price by a few hundreds :P

    Yes people are stupid.

How did it operate with that level of oil? Sounds unrealisticly stupid.

an engine can run with "that" level of oil if it has a oversize oilpan, or if the pressure goes down by blowing oil by the oil dip stick / blow-by. I hope it didn't cause any damage.

yeah a lot of blow buy thats why the underside was covered in oil.

I'm usually really good at looking cars over before buying them but this one had some very unusual circumstances.

I spent all yesterday, last night and today going over the car and I'm happy to say we did not find any real damage. i used about 8 cans of engine brite, 4 cans of brake cleaner and an entire box of surgical gloves, cleaning this bad boy, now it idles, runs and drives fantastic.

When the car was dropped off to me at work I drove it 2 blocks from my fire hall to my garage, I didn't have a chance to look at it for 3 days.

I would have suspected some fluids mixing if I found that much oil in a pan are you sure its all oil coming out?

Yeah all oil, I even poured some in a 2 liter bottle and let it stand 24 hours, no separations. I took the car on a 2 hour hiway drive today and the only problem was some sputters when I step on it.
No oil leeks and no oil under the car.

my car has been sputtering as well^^ Im thinking its either a bad spark plug, or they just need to be gapped properly. Im hoping its nothing serious
