What's your plugs gapped at? If 1.1 you need to regap to 0.8. Have you tested coil packs as well? If not start there and work your way up till u find it.
Oh yea, do some reading. These cars are not for noobs. Try googling the issues and you should find tons of info.
Knock sensors are essentially microphones, any type of detonation will set them off. Spark, fuel, and air are the only things to worry about, make sure all three are good.

Coil packs are between the valve covers, just remove the center cover and they are underneath. Most cases you use a multi meter to test resistance in the coil. You will need to remove them to test. I forget which pins, there are three, you are basically looking for less than 0.9 ohms. Any higher and the coil is dying. It is also a good opportunity to check your plugs as well. Also take a look at the wiring harness that connects the coils, I have had issues there before. Check the tech sections on the forum here, there are some good "how to's" for figuring out most of the issue you have.

I've run with 91 and 94 and notice no difference except in my wallet. I've even had to run 89 when primo was sold out and been fine. Unless you're leaning out at higher boost, I wouldn't worry too much about fuel.

My car was tuned for the high octane fuel in Japan when I got it - ran like s*&t. Had to be retuned for our octane. Could that cause the knock sensor to fault?
