Weird Sound coming from air intake

So I was driving my car today and there was a sound every minute or so like something grinding/rubbing. When i got home and popped the hood and played with the throttle; I could hear it coming from the air filter/intake like a Crrrr-hissss sound whenever the engines reved and the throttle is released.

Have never had this problem before. Any input would be nice. Thanks

take a video and show us to be sure... but to me it sounds like stock Re-circulation Blow Off Valve system.. and by your description sounds like it's working just fine.

does the car drive fine otherwise?

Are you still running the stock air box or aftermarket pods?

With aftermarket pods you will hear the stock recirc BOV system through them whenever pressure is released (throttle released).

Although this shouldn't sound like grinding as you described. As Josh said, video would help if you can post one up.

Maybe there's too much play in the turbo wheel and it's starting to rub? But I dont know how that sounds, never had this happen...yet.
