SSQV vent to atmosphere + air care

It is an instant fail with a vent to atmosphere BOV right? I have a HKS SSQV on there now and intend to put the stock one back on for aircare but before I go through the work I want to make sure it's necessary.

    Anyone know?
    Sideways is the best ways.

not an automatic fail by any means. you can always pass air car one way or another

isn't the SSQV one of the few BOV's that are CLOSED at idle? I know if u vent the stock BOV's and some after market ones they actually are open at idle leaking metered air causing the car to run like **** and really rich so that would definitely be a factor when trying to pass air care. The SSQV is closed at idle so theoretically your car should be idling exactly as if it had the stock BOV's recirced, I know mine idles perfect with an SSQV vented to atmosphere, the only issue the idle drops lower than normal when coming to a stop, some people have issues with the car stalling out, some dont, I am one of the ones who has no trouble venting and having my car stall at every stop sign or red light.

again.. I would never say I was an expert at this..
but what I have been told is that when the BOV 2 atmosphere opens up a rush of excess air rushes past the MAFS's and dumps fuel,, (hence the high HC's)... I have 23 Aircare fails to contest this...

Had to replumb the stock recirc system in to pass Air-Care..

...what about disconnecting the BOV's (so they are slways shut) for the time you are trying to pass air-care ??

I've passed air care with an atmospheric BOV 3 years in a row. Exhaust was swapped back to stock with stock cat.

No, it doesn't matter, but it'd help. I passed on my first try. Just gotta make sure car's tune is good and you'll be golden.

Just drove car hard on the highway and kept it revved at the aircare place while waiting.

Passed well, close on the HC but still alright.

ya, just a good cat and a healthy motor passes aircare.

Keep in mind I have 550cc injectors and 264 9.0 lift cams and passed. Just a good tuner and a healthy motor is what ya need to pass these tests.
