    Hicas Line removal

    Hey, It has been brought up but I wanted to try and make it simpler for everyone to do and to clear up a few questions of my own. First off here is the diagram off the Manual for a GTR.


    Now after I remove the Hicas veins and plug the hicas pump outlet from the rear of the Power steering pump, is it fine to just plug the line on the reservoir tank that connects to the hicas solenoid? (and then remove every line related to hicas)

    Just wondering if this would be fine? I figured this diagram will be easier to understand.

    just found the PS cooler in the lines, although looking at the tutorials on other sites for re-plumbing the lines, the person who has done this has done it wrong or had no cooler in their lines.

    I'd loop the rear of the pump through the OEM power steering loop. That's what I'm going to be doing when I eventually get around to dumping my HICAS. I figure OEM put a power steering "cooler" there, might as well take advantage of it. When you utilize the OEM power steering loop, you don't need to remove vanes or do any blocking. It's a low pressure line as well, so you don't need specialty line.

    I believe that if you remove the powersteering cooling loop as well, then you can just block off the outlet of the rear of the pump so long as the vanes are removed. But I think it would be wiser to retain either the OEM cooler or an aftermarket cooling setup for the PS, using the rear of the PS pump.

    I hope that is what you were asking about.

    Awesome, just the answer I was looking for. Good to know its a low pressure line as well. I'm sure I'm gonna have a few hiccups getting that section plumbed with the right hosing, but It shouldn't be too bad.
