How to protect rubber hose under the car?

I need to pass one hose from the trunk to the engine and I would like to know if I should be worried about rock chip or having the line cut by whatever on the road. Should I protect it? should I simply tie-wrap it close to the body and call it a day?

    Thanks

Wire loom is pretty tough and comes in different diameters. I encased the 0G wire from the battery in the trunk under the car to the engine bay. Lot's of tie wraps to keep it tucked up.
