What could be wrong :S

Recently it would need a second key turn for my car to start up.

Then today I went out and after driving it for about 10 minutes to my destination. I parked it. then came back and it tried to turnover but then. it seemed the battery was dying. then it would just make a "click" sound when I turn.

So I had to get it boosted for it to turn on and start it. and it started right away.

Drove it for while and parked and turn it off. Tried to turn it on and again it took 2 tries for the car to start.

Just wondering what could have gone wrong so I can do some preventive maintenance.

How old is the battery?
Sounds like symptoms of one, I had the same issue last year
Dropped a basic $100 battery in and the difference is night and day
Even idled smoother. I still want a top quality battery but funds are needed in other areas of the car

I had an issue with my battery too. Still have it, but lack of funds to fix it before I park it for the winter.

I left my lights on, killed my battery, boosted it, turns out I'm not supposed to boost it. I'm supposed to use a 2v charger to charge it back. Screwed my battery.

man I hope it's just battery......what'st he prize range for GTR's alternators, starters? jsut incase i gotta replace them.

Krystalized - so when u boosted it, ur battery was done? cause mine turned back on again when i turned the key it fired up.

Low charge battery. Alternator can be rebuilt. It's not the starter cuz when you got a boost it started right up.

Had the same issue after second year of storage of my car. I got a boost and also using a trickle / maintenance charger. I plug in the vehicle each time I park inside the garage. No issues since!

Battery is the issue, depends on how old it is...try charging first.

Yup old battery it's not holding its charge.

As for your question regarding price, it will likely be around the same price (100$) to get a new battery or get the alternator rebuilt.
