    Identifying a r34 rb26dett... Please make suggestions

Ok so here's the story. I have recently been shopping around for cars and looking for something that will work for me. I found a car that says he has a rb26 out of a r34 in there. Besides the cam angle sensor and the valve covers what is another way of identifying what is stated is true? I will do a complete check over the car before buying but would like to make sure everything that is said is legit. Anyways any help is appreciated.
Miss driving sooooo bad! Need to get a car on the road ASAP!

R34s had no ignitor and different coils, silver intake manifold.

**edit** sorry just re-read your post, so this engine is in an R32 or R33? If so, they would have used the R32/33 ignition most likely, so you will see an ignitor and regular coils.

Not necessarily, if they used a r33 series 2 or newer they wouldn't need a ignitor and it would be easily hidden. I know that the cost difference between a r33 and r34 motor are quite different. A r33 motor can be had for 3500$ and a r34 can be had for 6000$. Just want to make sure I'm getting what I am looking for

The engine number can be found under the intake manifold.

You can then check it on this site to get a rough manufacture date. If it's 1999+, then you have an R34 GTR motor

This may not be useful to you Cschepp but does the car come with the 6-speed transmission?

Can you use the R32/R33 5-speed with the R34 26motor?

Just figure if it's an R34 motor the buyer may have well just bought the whole swap...anyway best of luck!
    Because race car.

Yep, the R34 GTR RB26DETT is pretty much bolt in for any GTR. I had one in my R32 GTR without any major modifications. Mounts etc all the same AFAIK. The R34 GTR 6 Speed Getrag is VERY rare.. and the few that I've seen come up for sale sold for a very pretty penny.

I believe the 34 has an extra sensor in the dumps, if that helps.
