Does hicas have a steering wheel sensor?

I believe I found my hicas problem. I was scrolling thew NISSAN FAST and saw a picture of a steering sensor.
The steering is turning right after 70km.
I have NARDI steering wheel that I think was not installed properly.

Are you suppose to align the steering wheel with the steering sensor?

Technically it's the after market steering wheel hub that is suppose to align with the position of the sensor on the steering column. Now there are two different position for the sensor if your Skyline is a R32 (I and II). The R33 position is different from the other two R32 but you can use the series I hub and clock it.

My car came with an aftermarket Momo steering wheel. Hicas light was always on and horn didn't work. Took the steering wheel off and replaced with an OEM steering wheel. Hicas sensor was removed. My car was crab walking everytime I passed 70km/h.

Unbelievably dangerous, so I just got RightDrive to lock it out.

I got my lock-out from RightDrive, but mine is not a lock bar. It's a small metal O-ring. Works the same as a lock, however this Tomei kit is a quick job that can be undone easily if you decide to want your Hicas back for whatever reason.

Daryl could explain better if you're interested...call him up

MKIV has the Tomei kit, it's a great choice as it locks HICAS both mechanically and electronically. It's safe on the parts, doesn't throw error codes and is completely reversible. We usually have them in stock too, as when customer's HICAS systems go crazy it's something they generally want fixed ASAP!
