room on strut side? pls help!

i know that gtr's fit bigger wheels then gts typically. Atleast compared to the 4dr. which would be because the fenders are slightly wider if im not mistaken..

but trying to fit widest wheels is alright when you know how far out you can go, but how can you measure the room left on the strut side???

i know alot of you are thinking, well just crawl underneath and look, but my head cant fit underneath the car (too low) and also problem of being low that i have 2 inchs of tire tuck and cant fit my hands to check it out.

and if i lift up my car with a jack well the wheel un-cambers and isnt the proper distance.

please let me know if you have any ideas.

Gtrs at best will fit a 10.5 in the front. I have wider fenders and will be going 10 in the front as well. Now as for normal gts fenders if your looking for perfect flush fitment I would go with a 9 wide rim but if your looking to get aggressive with it the throw some 9.5 with some stretch and camber.

There is a wheel fitment thread in either general skyline tech or general discussion I believe. Check it out, it's very helpful
Miss driving sooooo bad! Need to get a car on the road ASAP!

You can easily fit 9-9.5 as long as you play your offset right.

I am not too sure though about slammed cars..

i guess i should of told you guys i run 17x9 et.17 front and rear. front is pretty flush and rear is little poke. but i mean if i get a example: et.35 on a 10 that takes up alot of room on the sturt side ya know. anyways, just trying to fit some nice big wheels. and i will be going gtr fenders that r rolled n pulled up front, still figuring out whats going for the rear. but yeah i am very much into stretch.

    thanks guys for the replies.

Know anyone working at a quick lub place? Drive your car there and see if you can take a measurement from the pit. You could get a pair of those drive-up ramps too or getto a set with 2X16s but this is kind of dangerous. Alternatively you could dig a pit in your backyard that's deep enough for you to get under the car?.

hahah i dont think digging is a great idea for my dads lawn, but ramps could work for sure. ill have to try that, drive up on some 2x6's and just enough to fit under, hopefully possible. but thanks guys.

hopefully theirs a decent amount of room to get some good widths.

Just blame it on the neighbor's dog or a pack of wild boars...

oh man, this was not the easiest thing. i slapped on the summer shoes and did some measuring. was alright. only thing i couldnt get a good picture of the measuring tape for the top of the wheel close to the coilover, but i did squeeze my hand up their and fit 4 fingers pretty much. was about 3 inches i think. but 2.5 to be safe for the next set of wheels.

this picture is against the rear toe arm i believe... its towards the bottom of the wheel. if i get bigger wheels though that will most likely be the first thing to hit. but i plan to get 18's, think it will clear?

need lower though. well on the front for sure, and a little more on the rear. but thats as low as it goes, cut springs ftw haha
