Why do I see some R32 that have the 2 small rectangular vents above the intercooler while others dont have such vents? is it a year-to-year change thing?

I have an 89 GTR Series 1 Zenki version and it has the air ducts in the bumper above the I.C. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it the N1 version of GTR's that came with that bumper?

they are N1 air vents/ducts. They're meant to give airflow to the top portion of the intercooler.

thanks for the replies. so the bumper is custom drilled and fitted with the ducts?
Do remember that nissan sells an optional N1 front crash bar with the two holes already pressed out. Thinner in other area's too to keep it light weight.
There is even one shop here in Japan that produces an FRP version of the crash bar to lower weight even further. Bit shameful when you think of the purpose of it.
Below are the optional R32 FRP type vents we offer. Compared to the ABS plastic type, they are identical in size and contoured to fit the top side curves. BCNR33 are almost the same size wise, just slight difference is mating point.
