Catch tank hose?, Thermal coating boost pipes?

I am trying to simplify my engine bay, I don't really like the look of my aluminum boost pipe kit (Trust). is their any benefit to thermal coating my piping from the turbos to the intake manifold.

Also what type of hose do people use for their catch tanks. In the magazines it looks like silicone?

i think it ranges from clear plastic garden hose, to braided stainless hoses

if you are going for a clean look, go with the braided stainless hoses, with the pretty anodized aluminum thingys on the end

If you want a clean look just get PCV hosing that's really long and cut it as needed. It starts to look very stock if you do it right That's how I did mine, less heat from cops if they make me pop my hood.

PS: Thermal coating intake piping as far as my concern goes would be bad for you. It traps IN heat. If anything you want that heat to escape.

My Greddy came with reinforced silicone hose, though it's more rigid and plastic-y then typical silicone hoses. It's 15mm, which is too small. I'm thinking I'd like to weld in some AN fittings to the valve covers and install fittings in the tank, then run braided steel lines. If you can get 20mm black PCV hose from say NAPA, it could be made to look nice and stock as kelaog said. Or bulk Samco silicone, to match other hoses you may have under hood.

I'd post a pic up but my car is umm, engineless.. But I routed the wiring properly and if you paint the plug that you use to plug up the PCV valve it looks almost entirely stock . If I painted my catch can black you wouldn't know it was an aftermarket part at all. Kind of cool considering mine is pretty big but hides behind the battery .

I like push-loc hose. It's cheaper than braided stainless, and easier to put together as well.

No real advantage to coasting your inlet piping, other than you might avoid some heatsoak from the engine bay.

3/4 inch I.D. is the crank case vent size. Home depot or rona sell that clear high pres hose with a nylon weave in it,low cost. If you use steel braid its -12. Check out AN plumbing.com.

an plumbing was horrible when i dealt with them. Took 5 months for four fittings and when they sent them to me they were the wrong ones. They refused to receive them back and return me the proper fittings.

    Not reccomended

are you sure its -12, i was told it was -16 or 7/8 or 22mm (XSDalio). although i also thought it was -12 though. Maybe i will leave the pipes alone. the problem with braided lines is they scratch anything they touch, i have 10' of real nice braided line and it just destroys the paint on the valve cover.

I am running a Black CCV Filter (ProVent 200) so maybe i will just use regular black hose.
