hey i thought i heard it was no good running staggered cause of the hicas, but do you know if you could fit a 10.5 all around without rubbing/turning issues ?
i really dont know!!! I want to know if these wheels will fit my car
Don't do it. You need to have your front and rear total outside diameter of your wheels/tires the same. You could put the same size tires (265s) front and rear but that will defeat the purpose of staggered wheels.
If there is a difference in total diameter between front and rear wheels you will cause excess wear on the ATTESSA/transfer case clutch packs.
Big thanks to my sponsor www.focusedmotorsports.com
Only if the rear tires are smaller than the front, then the computer will think there is wheel slip. If the rears are a touch larger then the HICAS will kick in a little later than stock. This is the only hard and fast rule: the rear tires cannot be smaller, EVER! The computer will think there is wheel spin and engauge the AWD clutchpack between 5 and 20% at all times while moving and fry the AWD clutches out.
I run staggered rims and tires, 245/45 on a 9" rim and 275/40 on a 10" rim. Both are the same exact dia. so no issues. The wheels had 235 and 255 tires orig. and the rears were a little taller, again no issues, just the AWD would kick in a little latter making the car prone to oversteer (fun for me, scarry for some). And incase you didn't realize, whenever you do a balls to the wall launch in a GTR, your rear tires are now 1/2" smaller than they were before (because of the huge weight transfer to the rear) and the fronts are now 1/2" taller then they were before (same reason) so under WOT in the first 2 gears you will have a 1" diff. in radius (2" in effective dia.........think about it) between the front and the back. Kinda makes you want to run a taller tire in the rear just for that reason alone doesn't it.
It still makes me chuckle to hear people say "don't run staggered, you'll kill the HICAS". Every AWD supercar on the planet runs staggered wheels and tires, why can't we?
Jon.
