    Intake Gasket Removal

What's the best way to remove stuck throttle body gaskets? They're really caked on after 20+ years! I'm a bit leary of spraying them with a gasket remover because I don't want overspray to wash away the throttle coating and create an air leak.

Proper method is a plastic gasket scraper, especially on the softer metal, but your right, your never going to get that off with plastic. Razor blades work, but they actually make a gasket remover for air tools that is basically a rubber wheel, that I find works the best. You can get them at any tool/auto store. Napa sells them

rub a bit of gas on the gaskets, wait and watch them just crumble/melt off.

I think I used varsol or something like that to "melt" it a bit before using the razor blade. Gas works too I guess.

I used a razor blade, some permatex gasket remover, and a rubber wheel on my die grinder.
