Gtr dash clock...odd?

So i havent taken it apart yet but this is odd, unless this is a known issue.

My dash clock will intermittently work. Sometimes it will just fade in or out.

Anyone know of a way to resolve this?
Not sure if it has a short somewhere and maybe a common problem.
