Only way to find out is to run it from the open downpipe.

I'm running a "highflow cat", per se, without issues. Cut the sensor off since it was rotten in the original (a real high flow) cat. Matched with my kakimoto it sounds boss; the same isn't necessarily true for exhausts that have a high pitch though.

A clogged cat will make the car feel like the handbrake is on when you're driving. Best way to test is to just undo the exhaust and see if it makes a difference.

You don't get higher flow from a test pipe vs a good cat, just more noise, environment destruction and the chance to get a 1000$ fine.

EDIT: And yes a test pipe is just a straight pipe that replaces the cat.

Yes a test pipe is a straight pipe. All it is is a section of exhaust pipe the same diameter and length of your cat with identical flanges on either side and sometimes has a few bungs welded in for A/F gauge,EGT sensor.. It's a hollow pipe.

You will notice the power and it will me much louder like Caporal mentioned. If it's to loud for you add a resonator downstream of the test Pipe or buy a silencer for your muffler thats all I did. Except I love the sound of my car so much I havnt even taken the silencer insert out of the plastic hahaha it's loud !

There are different techniques that people use to clean cat's but I have never tried it. Do some searching you may be able to Restore it and put it back in you want.

Probably involves ramming a pipe through it a couple times.
