    95 R33 GTR Headunit Installation

My R33 didn't come with a stereo so I bought a Sony CDX-GT550UI for it. I have never installed a stereo in a car before so its all new to me haha I am doing my research right now to see what I am going to need for wiring and how to do it right. SkylineAustralia.com has been my best source for information so far.

I managed to find this wiring diagram which should help a lot http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/Nissan-Wiring.pdf

So far for wiring it looks like I am going to need this to connect the antenna http://www.metraonline.com/part/40-NI11

If anyone has done this before and knows what I will need for parts and the best place to get them it would be a great help.

ok first buy a wireing harness for a 1990-1996 240sx, this connects to the harness in the dash which in turn connects to the harness from your deck. you can get this at walmart or crappy tire. also a antenna adapter to convert antenna to 1 prong. the harness color matches all the wires so it makes it easy.

Yes I did find that actually, thanks anyway!

I was reading some comments posted by a people who used it and they said the wiring colours in the guide were different from what they had in their car. I didn't want to use it for that reason, I will probably go with the install doctor PDF I found, it looks a little more professional lol and hopefully more accurate.

No big deal if they didn't cut off the stock harness plugs. I'd give you a hand showing you if I was in Fredericton but I'm out of town till Sunday night. I'm guessing you want it in this weekend. If the last person to install a deck in the car didn't cut of the stock plugs just go into future shop and ask for a wiring harness adapter for a mid 90s Nissan. I can't remember for sure but I'm pretty certain I didn't need an antenna adapter for my deck. Jon, pat or phil in the install bay at future shop know Skylines pretty well I'm sure they can help you out if you need anything or if you decide not to tackle it you could always pay them $50 to install it. Phil has one of the other silver r33 gtrs, his brother pat has a Silvia so they will know what your talking about. If you do need an antenna adapter future shop should have that too.

Also sorry to sound like a **** but if you can and you haven't already installed it, I would take that Sony deck back to where ever you got it. Sony car audio sucks goat ass. I'm sure you can get a decent pioneer for close to what you paid for that.

Hey thanks for the advice I already bought a wiring harness and got it installed. Had a little trouble with no sound coming through, I have a thread posted on it but its mostly sorted now. Its good to know about those guys at future shop to. Down the road I will be putting a whole new stereo system in, I will look into getting pioneer for that, but for now what I have will do.

I hope to see some of the other R33 GTR's in the area. There is a silver one just up the road from me but it just sits in the parking lot, not sure whats wrong with it.

Oh k, I'll check out the other thread then. The other one is Oromocto is a guy named Gavin. Im not exactly sure what's wrong with it now. I know he was having some transmission issues. We will have to do a meet sometime soon before everyone puts them away for winter.
