    GTRC Math: FEAST + MSSC + PINKY = 2.7

Well there are a couple of months before my next show and Adam has been whispering stuff in my ear, MSSC is eager to jump in, and Pinky is available… deadly combination :P… so here we have it…. Drove it straight over to MSSC after Performance World and they started taking out the motor last night. Hopefully if all goes well, we’ll have a well documented thread on a 2.7L N1 motor Build, not to extreme and something maybe a lot of people could consider if they want to “freshin up” their motor. As you can guess ill be sourcing all the parts through FEAST, and MSSC in Mississauga will be pulling the motor to do the work.. MSSC will be taking tons of pics and hopefully putting it up with some good text beside it in this thread...

So we have the base dyno (330rwhp on a mustang dyno there is a thread somewhere here with it)… as soon as I work it in we’ll dyno it again and see what it makes… let the fun begin…

Nice! Do you have the details worked out yet? I'm interested in which kit you'll be choosing and why.

Well I was talked into it so its a moderate build nothing crazy but something i think the average skyline owner can do if they wanted to freshin up the motor...

will probably be an N1 build maybe (nur) and slightly bored out to maybe 87mm (since its out:P)... and a thicker head gasket to get to that magic 2.7 number :P I'm not building a 700-800hp beast but im hoping to build a solid 500hp car with good low end torque (aka track beast)... the motor is already out and they started to strip it down... and with Adam supplying parts this might be the fastest 2.7 build ever :P LOL... but yeah the parts aren't finalized yet but we have an idea...

hopefuilly we'll get some pics up soon

Kismo built a 2.7 that ran low 10's in stock body and interior.

500hp wont get you the title of fastest 2.7

Pretty sure he meant fastest put together 2.7

Car looks great, I saw it at MSSC last year, changing the clutch or transmission, I can't remember which. Very nice car though, good luck with the build

LOL yes Rob you're right... should have been more clear, "fastest assembled 2.7L motor"... i doubt 500hp would give anyone the fastest 2.6L, or even the fastest 2L :P

Thicker headgasket gets you more displacement? That's news to me, or maybe I am reading wrong. I hope u dont think that's true....:hit_head:

lol you slap in a 12" thick head gasket on your motor and you're telling me you won't affect the volume of your cylinders? I guess it wouldn't change the compression ratio either? but anyways yes I'll admit its very marginal, 1 full mm more will probably only add about 30-40cc of cylinder volume total over all 6 cylinders with an 87mm bore :-P ... maybe I'm wrong... educate me ... like you did on the weight balancing of a car
