Project: making a project thread too soon.

Well have not had the GTR for a week yet and its already decided to break, heater core was disconnected did a pressure test it did okay, so hooked it up low and behold flooded the inside of the car with coolant, fun, now I have the whole entire interior stripped out of the car for cleaning, and rust checking as I dont want to replace floors. So yeah interior is gutted, going to finish the heater core tomorrow anyone got any tips ? I have the lower part of the dash apart is that enough or the top part have to come out too.
    ?
    THanks
will post pics during daylight of progress.

    sorry to hear.

i've had the same problem on other vehicles. its a pain as coolant gets into everything. usually, the entire dash has to come out but i dunno on a gtr. but the good thing is i had coolant soaked on the inside floor of one car for years and it never rusted. so nothing to worry about.

LOL it does, but hey its a learning experience I just finished it today so I am going to bring back your items saturday its been non stop and to add insult to injury my brother grazed my back bumper with his car :hit_head: and is being reluctant to repair the damage so I am unaware at the moment the coarse of action I will have to take.

    The car after 3 hours

Dash board out of the car

8 hours later I now know how to remove the heater core and the entire interior of the GTR

Solved my high idle issue, and now with a proper core the car runs very cool just the way i like it

Well I am parking the car and going to slowly work on it, the heater core stopped heating but is not leaking my guess that rusty spring on top of the box snapped or jammed so dash board is going to come out, again. The car is taking a really long time so warm up so I dont know whats going on will prolly have to pull the core again fun, and I dont think the thermostat is fully opening, its getting stuck or something cause the car is running really cool. So yeah ummm fun, good thing I got to drive it for a total of 2 hours.

Secondly anyone have a gun metal grey R32 rear bumper I can buy one with no damage at all and no paint fade or damaged clear to replace mine. Local prefered but will ship.

This is going to be fun, trying to get my family member to pay for anything considering I had to confront them, they hit it the day before and did not say anything, and the response, IT DAMAGED MY CAR TOO, and said I should pay to have his fixed when he hit a PARKED CAR!
