Well i thought i would start a build thread to kind of track my progress.
Well a little about myself I am 20 years old and really had very little experience working on cars previous to diving into my gtr. I only did minor stuff on my winter beater to get it to pass inspection such as rear brakes, rebuilt rear diff, axle seals, u joints that sort of thing.
I purchased my car in may 2009 from JDM Tuners in calgary was $11800 with 105000kms on it. Of course at that point i did get an inspection they were very helpful and drove the car to the mechanic of my choice to and sat and waited while until it was done then i called the mechanic to hear the details and get a sheet faxed over. Well enough talking i'll start by showing the pictures that JDM Tuners had up.
So you can see it is in fairly good condition only things wrong that the mechanic found were some leaky injectors and a few suspension pieces (upper control arm and tie rod end or something) JDM tuners replaced the suspension parts at no extra cost.
Now to the modifications the car came with, sorry that they are in caps i just copied and pasted from an old email too lazy to retype it.

NISMO CLUSTER (320KMS)
CARROZERRIA PIONEER CD, DVD & TV PLAYER,
ALARM SYSTEM, DEFI BOOST V.S.D,

HKS HIPEMAX COILOVERS,
FGM HID KIT, 17” ALTIA RIMS,
DRILLED FRONT & REAR ROTORS,
TINTED WINDOWS,
KAKIMOTO REGU & R EXHAUST
So really the only thing done was the exhaust and coil overs.
Now onto my modifications / maintinence
First thing i did was brake pads but that's boring so i didn't post any pics.
After i put 10000 kms on the car the tranmission started to make quite the noise (did i mention i didn't know how to drive a standard previous to purchasing this car? lol). So i found one for $500 shipped and followed a DIY on this forum was very helpful. Also note i did this all by myself with no help and this was the first time i ever removed a transmission. Ran into only one issue really i changed from a pull to a push clutch system (or was it vise versa? from the new to the old) and had to swap the slave cylinder had some problems bleeding it.
Here are some pictures:
Then i recieved this little package from ztune (will never order anything from them again will type it out later in the build) while i had the transmission out thought i should replace the clutch and upgrade the flywheel.
Here are some pics:
Put a lightweight nismo flywheel in and a .. hmm brain fart can't remember the clutch.
After this i decided i don't like the colour of my rims and i managed to hit a curb and damage one so i decided to refinish them. here are some pics of that process we will see how it lasts i plan to get some 18x10 rims at some point but the bank account is hurting a bit now that i'm going to school.
Here are some pics of that
sanding it down to primer sure sucked! this was partially sanded

After i installed all of this began the fiasco with ztune. I sent them my ecu and they recieved it on March 4th to install a nistune board. They said the board would be 10 days at that point vai the phone. I paid them about march 10th so i guess a little delay because i didn't pay would be acceptable. I contacted them March 20th to check on the status and they said 14 days from that point i as like wtf? but let it slide. Call them 14 days after and they said they would be shipping it out that week because it is in customs, so that weeks passes i call them again and it is still stuck in customs (did i mention it arrived in customs on april 3rd?). so after constant calls i get the tracking number and this is when i found out that nistune only shipped it out March 30th appears it was on backorder or ztune didn't order it until quite late. After calling them constantly all they keep saying is "it's in customs" I work in a retail scuba store and have cleared a large number of packages from customs when i order from my distributers so it's not like i don't know what needs to happen. Currently the package is STILL in customs and because of this i had to cancel a road trip, and miss 2 meets (i really want to go to one this year!)
So in the middle of this fiasco i installed a few parts an Apexi intake and downpipe here are some pictures
Top speed downpipe
Turbo outlet hose is upside down here whoops!
Well that's it for my build at the moment i am STILL waiting for my ecu to come back from nistune.
Next on my list will be:
Rear suspension bushings (rear left tire has abnormal tread wear and the bushings are quite worn out)
Alignment
Spark plugs (forgot about these when i changed all my fluids oops)
fuel pump
turbos
outlet pipes
i'll update this as i go!
